THE REVIEW

"All is Violent, All is Bright", is an album from 2005. The offering from this Irish three-member band is an epic instrumental sound with repetitive motifs and dynamics evolutions typical of post-rock, decorated with layers of delayed and reverberated sounds that emphasize the consonants. The type of ambience created may remind one of the works of the band Mono, but it is more structured.

The band debuted in 2002 with the album "The End of the Beginning" released by their own label, Revival, in the same year. "All is Violent, All is Bright" gained significant visibility due to the video of the single "Fragile", the opening track.

The album's ten tracks are extremely balanced in their arrangement and the way they evolve, gradually guiding the listener deeper into the band's sound layers. The electronic inserts, which account for much of the changes in the song's evolution, are effective and extremely impactful. The epic flavor of the entire album is evident from the atmospheres as well as the titles. "Forever Lost, A Deafening Distance" are examples of the sensations this band's work can give to the listener.

The last track, "When Everything Dies", is more elongated than the others, ten minutes to conclude a beautiful album, very easy to listen to but not as immediate as it may seem. A band worth listening to, even for those who don't usually enjoy structures like post-rock.

Recently, the EP "A Moment of Stillness" was released, anticipating their next album.
