I find them incredibly dull, despite my immense love for prog. They are four really badass musicians (Stolt is a wizard, but in his career he's produced three times what he should have, Trewavas is a great bassist and I love Marillion, Portnoy is talented but I hate Dream Theater, Morse is beyond discussion), the individual sections of the suites are interesting but over time the listening bores me. I can't help it. Besides, I also have significant doubts about much of the work by Flower Kings and Spock's Beard. The first one is better, anyway.

well, as you can deduce from my nickname, I'm not exactly a young kid (but I'm not 64!). unfortunately, I would have liked to try my hand at a cammellesca review, but they are all gone. and I'd like to avoid duplicates. I will have to find an alternative.

I take half a point off the review for the final sentence (which I actually agree with, especially with the subsequent clarifications, but stated that way it was excessive), while the album is truly wonderful. I've always been an unconditional lover of Camel, but nowadays I'm undecided about which is my favorite. I also love the latest works; the only one I'm missing (but it's on its way) is A Nod and a Wink. The sadness that grips me at the thought of Andy being seriously ill is remarkable. A giant!! And I wouldn't underestimate Bardens, Ward, and Ferguson himself. Since the classic lineup has started to break up, the magic has somewhat faded, but I love all the Camel albums. My favorite band, on par with Genesis.

Excellent review for the Marillion masterpiece. And that’s coming from a first-hour Fish fan, someone who, since '91 (since the hated HIE), ignored Marillion for 16 years, mainly because I couldn’t digest good old Mr. H. Today, I've changed my mind a lot, even though I still love the great Derek Fish. Hogarth is fantastic, and this record is a wonderful gem. What can I say about Great Escape? Pure poetry.

Beautiful review (perhaps a bit too schematic) for an absolute masterpiece. I love it maybe even more than Voyage of the Acolyte. In my opinion, Ant is a great, unfortunately also great in misfortune. Congratulations on reviewing it. I wanted to do it today, but then I found out that you had done it, and I bow down to you.

Great review, a bit harsh. It's true that we're on a decidedly more polished level than before, but in the context of those years, I believe this album excels as well. In my opinion, it's a 3.5.
And the comparison to Supertramp seems, besides being forced, also a bit cruel: they may be easy and melodic as much as they want, but personally, I love them, even during their more commercial phase (there are three or four absolute gems in Breakfast in America, not to mention the earlier albums).

beautiful review, tremendous band. I don't know guys, I personally worship John Bonham, who perhaps in terms of instinct (which may be the most typical characteristic of rock) was the greatest, but Neil Peart has monstrous technique combined with a huge heart. And let’s not forget his importance as a lyricist with lyrics that are never trivial. immense Professor

The review is not bad at all, almost a 4. The album, I know it's cliché, but it's one of those that has really resonated with me on a deeper level. It's tough, it has an exceptional blend of sounds, but that doesn't mean the individual tracks lack identity. Another gem in the discography of a trio that can never be praised enough.

the review is excellllllent, the album IS DEFINITELY THE BEST OF 2008. And it’s a prog album, and I say this as someone who has been feeding on Locanda delle Fate, Balletto di Bronzo, and the like for months.
I also agree with the judgment on those who give 1 to Eelst: they might be annoying (but in my opinion, it’s a judgment due to at least superficial knowledge), but to consider them banal is a no-go. Even La risposta dell'Architetto (I’m among those who would silence Mangoni, at least musically) has true flashes of genius. Not to mention the instrumental textures of Il congresso delle parti molli. The only somewhat flimsy little song, in my opinion, is Single, which is nonetheless a SACROSANCT tribute to the great Feiez.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!
