I agree with those who came before me; among the works from the '80s, I prefer Signals and Grace Under Pressure, but it’s still a great album.

I don't know if it's normal at my venerable age to start tackling the vast discography of Uncle Francesco. I did it (more out of laziness than anything else, because I’ve always thought of him as a genius yet never dared to explore deeper) starting with this album, and I am astonished—I'm afraid for my bleeding wallet. Anyway, it’s an incredible album and, perhaps, I agree with the reviewer, blessed relief is the masterpiece.

great album. in my opinion, all of Billy's albums up to The Nylon Curtain are worth top marks

I completely agree with currahee72: I, who literally fell in love to the notes of "Honesty," who hated Barry White for covering "Just the Way You Are," who had fun with "It's Still Rock 'n' Roll to Me," and was moved by "All for Leyna," am deeply attached to "The Nylon Curtain," from the first to the last note. With a "Goodnight Saigon" that gives me chills. For me, it's a masterpiece. Anyway, thanks, cappio al collo, you’ve made me (us) want to listen to a great album again.

I apologize, cappio, but the review bored me a little bit. I add a score for the enthusiasm with which you (rightly, in my opinion) discuss this record, which is a little gem that unfortunately doesn't get enough attention. While I must admit that it is an immature album (just think about how the rearrangements on "songs in the attic" improved some songs from this album), I find it incredibly inspired and permeated with a terrible melancholy but never excessive. From "she's got a way" to "got to begin again" tears have flowed many times, but it's a "beautiful" emotion.
Honestly, I prefer it to "the stranger" (aside from some sacred monsters on that record) because, indeed, I find it more deeply felt. Anyway, good old Billy (I've never liked the comparison with Elton John, who is great in his own right) has been at the highest levels until "Glass Houses" and "the Nylon Curtain." Then he had a "physiological" decline, but he remains a giant capable of giving emotions both with his wonderful ballads and with the more rock-oriented tracks (he surrounds himself with an excellent band, by the way). Great!!

I didn't see the concert in question, but I believe I have the right to vote by default. I've seen Francesco at least 10 times in the last 25 years, and I share every single word of the review. A father, a friend, an absolute great.

the choice of the old inn earns you a 2, otherwise no one would have taken the 1 away from you (at least not from me). aside from the duplication, aside from the elementary school style (I hope you’re no older than 14), at least a quick reread would have allowed you to avoid dozens of typos. the record is nice, but in my opinion (as already mentioned by others in the previous review) there are at least a dozen Italian prog bands that shine brighter. I'll skip the list.

The review is great, the criticisms are also warranted, I would never spend 45 euros, but guys, these guys are incredible. I’m not voting because I've never heard him, but I believe my judgment would align with Primiballi's. Of course, I belong to the generation of forty-somethings and I saw the Police in Milan around 1982. Immense.
