Bon Jovi Lost Highway

After a few months and several listens, I've reevaluated this album.
It is definitely a commercial album, but after a while, the tracks have touched my heart, they've settled in my mind, and there are many songs that I enjoy listening to.
It creates a nice atmosphere.

IMHO the best album by Negrita alongside "Radio Zombie". Beautiful music, intriguing atmospheres.

My favorites: LIKE A SONG, pure essential energy, no metalheads with dozens of guitars and overdubs to create power, here three instruments and a voice are enough, beautiful! DROWNING MAN, a true passionate interpretation by Bono with instrumental backing that occasionally gives chills. 40, a stunning and perfect closure; it’s a shame it ends so soon. SUNDAY and NEW YEAR'S DAY are already famous and it seems everything has been said about them; the latter, in my opinion, feels a bit too long and becomes tedious. Not to mention THE REFUGEE, with its energetic scream, and SECONDS, so seductive. I believe this energy and vitality is lacking in the glossy albums (U2 and others) that are being made today.

I find the review interesting and well-written, but too limited, barely managing to tell the story of the album. The album is quite old, and some tracks may sound less catchy compared to current music. The sound is similar to Boy, but there is more maturity and instrumental mastery. Above all, in my opinion: TOMORROW, which starts off gently only to transform into a scream, and OCTOBER, truly breathtaking. A moment of reflection, almost a dream, at the heart of an album with gritty tones.

Now I have the album, I didn't even remember that I had already commented on it.
I'll just say one thing: "Dry Country" (which I already knew) is truly an extraordinary track that overshadows everything else on the album. Probably one of the best songs in the band's history, featuring an outstanding Sambora.

In the review, you didn't mention "Aria," which I think has a fantastic riff!

I saw the movie last night.
Your review seems a bit naive to me (I don’t read others’ comments). I agree with your criticism only regarding the meeting with the Cuban firefighters, where there’s a bothersome, sugary American sentimentality that could have been avoided. I also see how foolish Americans can be, who after their government has thrown shit at them still say, ā€œwe're all brothers,ā€ ā€œthe whole world has suffered for us,ā€ etc. Well, I didn’t suffer with them more than what was necessary for innocent humans who fell victim to an act of violence that killed them, but I certainly would NEVER have gone to a solidarity march for the American people. Come on, many more people die than those 3,000 in New York in other parts of the world; why should Americans be valued more and talked about for months and years, while others are forgotten after two days?
Closing this parenthesis and returning to the film: the portrayal of European healthcare by Moore doesn't deceive Europeans and Italians; we know it’s not all roses and flowers (in Italy especially, the situation is only getting worse, resembling America more and more), but it's important to keep in mind that this is a film aimed at the American people, notoriously dumb and impressionable, and deliberately Moore exaggerates the gap with other countries, even if it may not be 100% accurate. It’s a bit of advertising if we want, but for a worthy cause.
The beautiful-ugly alternation that you contest seems to me to be the heart of the film; the essence of the documentary arises precisely from there, and I think it’s excellent!
Lastly, the conditions of the "terrorists" in Guantanamo highlight the absurdity of the American contradictions that Moore brings to light. The expedition is just a symbolic act.
Best regards,
Ale
