Cristiano De André De Andrè Canta De Andrè

Dear friend, let me share an anecdote with you. At the FABER concert I attended in Verona many years ago, "HE," halfway through the concert, said: <<Ladies and gentlemen, I’m going behind the stage for ten minutes to smoke a cigarette. I leave you with the greatest musical talent I’ve ever encountered, who in life has had one single, great misfortune. To carry my last name...>>. And he left the stage to Cristiano, who performed three of his songs with just his guitar and voice, leaving me in awe. And if Faber says it... do I make myself clear? You may have also noticed Cristiano’s magical “production” touch in Anime salve? I had never heard such atmospheres in an album of his father. That said, let it be clear that Fabrizio is literally unreachable, and I’m sorry if it seemed otherwise. Bye.
Franco Battiato L'imboscata

And it took just him to remind us that we are just passing through! So now I’ll make a note of it... ; )
Let’s not confuse the splendid orchestration and the use of conservatory professors even just to turn on the microphones, along with the chronic quest for the strange at all costs, fishing from forgotten treatises of transcendental philosophy (thankfully) with musical genius, which here, as always, is embarrassingly absent. Simply because it isn’t there, has never been there, and will never be there. Praise for culture, for the stormy historical/artistic search, but FOR ME the art of music is something entirely different. NORAH JONES (is it spelled like this???), to mention someone quite commercial yet not too much, guitar and voice, gives me emotions that Professor, Doctor, Excellence Battiato perhaps has never even experienced personally... Overrated. An erudite review but lacking objectivity. Bye.
Tiziano Ferro Alla Mia Età
Voto:
Guinness-worthy voice, mediocre lyrics, unjustifiably grand production. Risks starting to take itself a bit too seriously... and if it goes down the path of Battiato, then it will become unbearable. At least it tries to be unique! But the pull of supermarket music ruins everything, or almost.
Cesare Cremonini Il Primo Bacio Sulla Luna

Listening to him play the piano should be enough to make everyone who criticizes just for the sake of it understand that they don't come off very well... Excellent musician, mediocre singer who compensates with good creativity and a lot of passion. We need more like him!

If I had a tenth of the talent that Cristiano has, I would be in my house in L.A. laughing at the government cuts... The CD DOES NOT DO JUSTICE to the project that Cristiano has taken around the theaters. Bad choice of the tracklist, and the recording, but it was obvious, it fails to convey the musical thrill that he and his guys inspired in me during the concert. Never before have I had to stand up for the standing ovation. By the fifth encore, he had no more songs from his father to perform and started with a couple of his own, made solo with guitar or piano, and the audience was never satisfied. I, who love the father so much, adore the son, and I recognize even greater talents in him (of course not the importance in the history of Italian music).

The Blur are to Oasis what the Beatles are to the Rolling Stones. No comparison. A sparkling, enjoyable album, but nothing more. Of course, here Albarn wasn't depressed yet, and you can feel it. Thumbs up to the guitarist, the other two are just garnish.

I give 5 to the record, but it's an insult. For this album, just for this, it deserved a 10. A very learned review, but forgetting to mention "pezzettini" like COME TOGETHER, SOMETHING, HERE COMES THE SUN, and OH DARLING, among others, seems like a bit too much poetic license... The album par excellence, to listen to, and listen to, and listen to, wondering if it's really true that it was written 40 years ago.
Paul McCartney Cold Cuts
Voto:
The album, now truly famous, is a reflection of good old Paul. A volcano of ideas, a genius of POP composition, an unmatched thoroughbred that, however, needs a good jockey; otherwise, it tends to lose its way a bit... The arrangements leave something to be desired here and there, diminishing the impact of really valid melodies and ideas worthy of the best Paul (from the 65-70 era). The album is charming, but I wouldn’t play it for someone I want to convince of Macca’s greatness. Nice review. Bye.

A great talent, I would say exceptional. Then the execution is another matter, for a thousand reasons. A valid album, perhaps a bit light, but he really has an edge over his peers in the Italian music panorama. A valid review.

In-depth review, maybe I would avoid the swear words but all in all they can be funny at times... Thumbs down to the deer leather saga (except for the one who wants to make a barbecue..) As for the album, I wouldn't be so catastrophic. I listened to it for free at the store and if they had told me that I would later decide to buy it, I would have laughed, thinking back to FLUEL and similar nonsense. And instead, I bought it! Here the Metallica, the good ones, the ones I've seen live and who still deliver the goods, are glimpsed, can be felt, and that's already news! Great voice, good ideas (of course, you can't expect a revolution), good grit, and excellent production. DON'T touch ULRICH, he's like having Zoff in goal, a safety net. The bass is lacking and who cares, too many solos but who cares. I would have removed 2 or 3 songs, halved a couple more, forgotten unforgiven, and moved on. Anyway, HONORS TO THE GREAT METALLICA, who if nothing else bring back a bit of dignity despite their age, play well, and are not a caricature of themselves, like the Rolling ones, if you know what I mean...
