Thank you. I hope you will like the album.

After The Rain is one of those incredibly rare compositions that can justify the purchase of an album all by itself. That alone is enough for a 5 (it’s actually my favorite by Trane).
Then we also have India and Impressions... not bad for a recovery album.

There's nothing to be done. The more I listen, the more it rises within me. Bloom is a wonderful opener.

The song is really bad as well as pointless, but it’s just a single, so I won’t judge it too harshly.
Star-studded production, perhaps overly so... Interesting time change halfway through the song. A friend of mine told me it was an impossible rhythmic thing: listening to it, it seems to me a simple shift from a four-bar structure to a slow triplet with some embellishments. Definitely unique!

Among the many things that could be said and emphasized (so many that one should just listen) about the record in question, I want to highlight Jones's performance in Pursuance. And I’m not just talking about his solo, but about what he does afterwards. He plays with an intensity I have never felt before, never. His drumming is pure lyricism, a devastating series of polyrhythms, crescendos, and descents that make his drumming something ā€œsungā€ rather than just rhythmic. Devastating and, above all, perfect for playing with Trane.

Really a pleasant surprise this album. Nothing transcendent, but elegant, well-produced, with a touch of retro that I like very much.

I think I’m the only person in the world who prefers the Footprints from this album over the one from Miles Smiles... ;)
