It's bullshit, I preface it :) mykes in Greek means mushrooms, and mycology is the science that deals with the study of mushrooms; then "rnr" = rock'n'roll, you add it all up and... you understand the reason behind the stupid question :D

it's the first because it's also the only one! :) another anecdote, the origin of the name: it seems that the singer had a musician uncle (one of those a bit crazy and eccentric) named Joe Spinto. I almost forgot: welcome Mikornr! do you listen to rock'n'roll for mushrooms? (that was really bad...but it's January 2nd and going back to work is tragic...sorry)

this is a great CD, really: the off-key singing halfway through "oh mandy" is fantastic, as well as the frequent use of the theremin (a "instrument" that I find very fascinating). the last track ("japan is an island") is the one that most resembles grandaddy, due to the use of robotic noises. and then they also remind me of the flaming lips! great CD, I repeat: I found it imported in London, and I regret not having picked it up right away! rating 5+++++

Great CD! I remember many years ago they went on Red Ronnie's show (ugh!) because they were playing in Italy as a support act for Skunk Anansie: they made a DISASTER! To the point that Red Ronnie, to explain their "violence," told that in many places in the USA they weren't wanted because they were too rowdy, and their concerts always sparked brawls and scuffles! Apart from the nonsense, I repeat, a very nice CD!
