Paolo Vallesi Le Persone Inutili
Voto:
The review is strange and at least curious, a reasoned parallel between the 'beautiful' and the 'ugly.' I also believe that this mushy stuff was probably re-sung by the good Vallesi on some terribly sad revival show hosted by the ubiquitous Carlo Conti. It's truly worth reflecting on how certain people can achieve success with just one song (in this case, there was also "La forza della vita"), while capable and creative artists struggle to the unimaginable, often in vain, to secure even a scrap of an audience.

But come on...
Lucio Dalla Bugie
Voto:
After 1978 (the year of "Lucio Dalla"), all the subsequent works of the Bolognese artist have been recycled, overcooked meatloaves. Conventional and already heard music, elementary and ridiculous lyrics, a sort of guru aura that frankly is embarrassing and obscene. Here he is not at his best; in fact, perhaps he is at his worst, even though "1983" was a nice load of nonsense.
David Bowie Pinups
Voto:
I'm sorry Dune Buggy, but you are dissecting the ugliest works of David Bowie, although this is just a personal opinion. I also believe this is one of the most obscene.
Sting The Soul Cages
Voto:
A very straightforward and direct review; unfortunately, I have never listened to the album. Sting doesn't really excite me, except when he was with the Police.

Vellutogrigio, in friendship, what the hell are you writing: giving a 3 to Elvis and the Beatles while trying to dismantle their myth (but hey, you write for DeBaser, not "Variety") and then slapping a 5 on this idiot who sings such enormous nonsense that it has as much to do with music as a scale in Giuliano Ferrara's house. There are two possibilities: either you've been pulling our leg all this time making us believe you know something about music or before writing your reviews, you should take a trip to the distillery. Then I wonder what sense it makes to include this stuff in the recommended reviews, but excuse me: that of Luca Dirisio and Jesse McCartney I now assume has Bergman-esque stature. Come on now.
Renato Zero Il dono
Voto:
Renato Zero that tastes like a sleeping pill: if he had used this title, just for the honesty, I would have given it a 5, but since the album is called "Il dono," as a gift it's quite unpleasant. Much better a box of Perugina chocolates.
Queen A Kind of Magic
Voto:
I recognize two lire of value for this record because "Highlander," all things considered, I kind of like. But then again, we're talking about Queen, not just anything.
Vasco Rossi Gli Spari Sopra
Voto:
Well, saying that Vasco has used drugs is superficial but absolutely undeniable; I don’t think he’s ever been racist. Anyway, I’ll repeat it: Vasco was a great singer-songwriter from 1977 to 1981, and then that was it, just clever and monotonous records, including the much-celebrated "Bollicine." Often, his lyrics feel like elementary school musings, mixed with music we’ve already heard a thousand times, mostly copied from American bands. Here he is perhaps at his best in his worst period: "Vivere" and "L'uomo che hai di fronte" (which you don’t like) are maybe the best moments, also because, when he tries to reflect on current society, the future teenage letters of "Delusa" and the scandal of Tangentopoli in "Gli spari sopra," not everything goes smoothly.
Duncan James Future Past

If it’s a joke, it’s not funny (and it doesn’t even make me smile); if it’s all true, it’s better not to comment out of modesty.
