Francesco De Gregori Rimmel

Good job. I've been saying it for years. De Gregori is a genius. He deserves to be reassessed even beyond our borders. Until the self-titled album of '78, he was perfect. One of the very few singer-songwriters who touches the soul. De Andrè is the voice of conscience. De Gregori is the voice of recklessness. That's what I've always thought.

It was a compliment to you, kosmo...hello :-)

De Gregori, at that time, had something very close to genius. Up until this album, he was truly outstanding. He is the quintessence of the inexplicable. The cinematic term is one of the most suitable to describe his songs. The images are right there in front of you. In few artists do music and words blend so naturally. A piece like "Ipercarmela," from Buffalo Bill, is a brilliant example of this.

Are these clowns? This is the most beautiful record of the 90s. In my opinion, the significance of such a work has still not been understood.

Well done. It's a shame there’s only a measly comment for this band that really had talent. Honestly, even though this album is surrounded by more cult status, I prefer the later SENSE AND SENSUALITY, which I think is more mature and less anchored to the Gang Of Four canon. There’s a track on that album, "Stepping Out Of Line," that really possesses a power and groove that's hard to match even today.
Anyway, a truly outstanding comeback. In short, one of those genuinely great cult bands.

Well, Reverse, I'm talking about the whole album. You can also feel the famous Madchester scene. In general, though, I find New Order a bit heavy. It's also a matter of taste, of course.

Technique is not bad, but I find it a bit cheesy. They knew how to do their job well, but they also knew how to ride the wave of the moment. They did the math and Ibiza + Manchester = Technique. Not that there's anything wrong with being influenced; every record is, unless it's by a genius or a U.F.O. However, the references feel too well calibrated, too studied.

Good job, but for me you're too much of a fan. They are beyond doubt, but unlike you, I believe they haven't done excellent things after 1987.

Alright, I don’t give a damn about the 2-star review, but let’s not curse this masterpiece.
