  Great ranking! For Polanski, however, I would have placed Il Coltello Nell'Acqua higher, and I would have given a few more positions to Bergman with Il Posto Delle Fragole. From Ferrara, I preferred Fratelli. I also liked Spider by Cronenberg despite quite negative reviews.

  Thank you PVC, very nice "the knife..." but "Repulsion" has something more for me... Ferrara's work is stunning too, "Fratelli" is fantastic but I’m more "poetically" inclined towards the vampires of "Addiction"... after all, it’s just a ranking (and it doesn’t mean much) for me these are all giants or number ones... "Spider" is one of the best films of the last 10 years for me, I never put too much weight on critics...
  
  @UhuhPanicoUhuh I go crazy for and with Woody, choosing a film (aside from those definitely less successful) is incredibly difficult for me, there are quite a few that I could/should include (Zelig, Harry Unleashed, Manhattan, Everyone Says I Love You...) that’s why I said that for certain directors 3/5 films to include was the minimum!

  Dreyer and Antonioni are there! by Renoir (unfortunately, I've never seen anything) while I’ve only seen Ford's "The Searchers" and I didn't like it that much...

  Nice ranking, all great films (some I'm not familiar with, but that's okay...). I agree on Spider. From Bergman, I would have chosen Persona, from Kurosawa Ikiru, from Dreyer Ordet, from Wilder Ace in the Hole, from De Sica Umberto D., from Antonioni The Cry. From Clair, I recommend Ten Little Indians, from Renoir La Grande Illusion, and absolutely, for life, from Ford, The Grapes of Wrath (it's not a western).

  beautiful ranking!! maybe I would have raised Kurosawa and Hitchcock a bit, but it is what it is... of course, Master Miyazaki probably belongs around the 40-50 spot... ;)

  The only thing, at least 40 seats up, Leone. Anyway, you have to see La Scamèagnata by Renoir, and the films with Jean Gabin.
