Alejandro Jodorowsky (born 17 February 1929) is a Chilean-French filmmaker, playwright and artist best known for surreal, avant-garde cult films such as El topo, The Holy Mountain and Santa Sangre.

Born in Tocopilla, Chile. Creator of landmark cult films El topo (1970), The Holy Mountain (1973) and Santa Sangre (1989). Author and practitioner of psychomagic. Collaborated with comic artist Moebius; involved in an uncompleted 1970s attempt to adapt Dune with collaborators including H.R. Giger and Moebius.
