Am I mistaken or is Jade Jackson a "protégé" of Mike Ness from Social Distortion?

"Angel is My Woman"; I wish she were mine too, my woman, even just for a little while. I'll settle for half an hour in a bed and breakfast in Melendugno. @[heartshapedbox] dear, can you be my broker? No mosquito, okay, broker.

beddra, maybe you know? you can't imagine how messed up I am right now, but I dream of having a concert that I truly enjoy. I'm seriously thinking about it, having some fun would do me good.

I've been thinking about it since I commented on the demeeting! If I'm not very quick with my responses, it's because I can't be as present on the site as I'd like, dear. I have to manage a devilish arrangement to be able to come, but I'm trying. Also because I want to figure out if Pinhead's voice is really the one you hear on Radio Debaser or if he pays someone to speak in his place to mimic Verdone.

When you mention Angel Olsen, I can't help but think of "fagioli, riszo, piszelli" from a Sacco Bello. Keep in mind that I've been to Rome once in my life and didn't see anything, but thanks anyway. If I do come, you have to do the bit with Sora Lella.

Of course it's beautiful. Anyway, Anton has two new albums ready... They are already streaming in demo version on YouTube. But I will wait for the final versions to fully enjoy them.

On the same album there’s also another song featuring Asia Argento, beautiful, where Asia sings in French:

      18 jan 18
I don't like Asia Argento at all as a singer. In fact, she also leaves a bit to be desired as an actress. I also want to sing with Anton!!!!! >_<

    Two questions for ...
    1) Who is this Niblett who's better than Olsen? Recommended album?
    2) Is Alela Diane a singer of Indian descent? I think I listened to something of hers years ago and I liked it a lot.

And above all, is Cate LeBon the daughter of the legendary Simon?
    • heartshapedbox
      27 jan 18
Pinè, I care about you a lot, but question n.1... How can you not know Scout Niblett??!!!! Anyway, it’s not that one is better than the other; I just can’t do it, it’s like asking a child who they love more, mom or dad? Okay, I would say the cat, but in this case, let’s say they are two very different artists, and for a purely sentimental and also chronological reason, Scout is number 1 for me; I’ve been listening to her since the early 2000s and I grew up with her. Meanwhile, Olsen is a young love but from adulthood. So to start, I recommend Sweet heart fever and The calcination of Scout Niblett. Question 2, I only know she is American. Lastly, Cat LeBon is not Simon's daughter.

I found the record that introduced me to Diane and, yes, it's her

Last night I listened to about ten tracks from "Sweet Heart Fever" on YouTube, really beautiful, after Olsen, she's also a great revelation. At this point, I truly believe I'll listen to all of them, one by one, the artists you mention. Great heart!

      28 jan 18
      Great!!! I'm really happy!!!!!!! :-)))
Actually, I don't think you'll like all of those on the list, but if you have the time and the desire, listen to them all; otherwise, I'll point out the ones that I think are right for you ;)
    • Pinhead
      28 jan 18
If you feel like pointing out some that are closer to my taste, I would be more than happy; in any case, little by little I’ll give a listen to all of them, hoping for some more pleasant surprises.
Anyway, "Burn Your Fire for No Witness" is excellent, this morning I bought "The Calcination of Scout Niblett" and on a first listen, it seemed like a great album.

I'm really glad that Scout Niblett is so appreciated :) in this list there are singer-songwriters that I think are similar, maybe I can suggest a few if you're interested.

She's not a very acclaimed artist and I don't understand why. Her debut album is stunning, and right now I'm taking a peek at the second album I Am produced by Albini. Sensual, hypnotic, minimal—simply magnificent for my musical tastes. Recommendations are always welcome, especially if they're of this artistic level.

A female artist unlike any other, Krissy Battalene, a revelation I've discovered in recent days, a true psychonaut guitarist, one of the few out there:

    #levitation #headroom

really very interesting! I will look into it further!
    • sotomayor
      12 feb 18
Do you know who she draws inspiration from? Les Rallizes Denudes and White Heaven. And indeed, she sings in that nuanced way typical of Michio Kurihara. I think she's one of the few "leading" women in the neo-psychedelic scene who escapes the usual definitions of vocalist, priestess, Nico, etc. She is simply a true psych guitarist. In fact, Headroom is her solo project (she also plays with the Mountain Movers), they are her band. Always presenting fresh female psychedelic material (two little records that I will include in my next review on kalporz):

There’s a lot of Nick Cave-Lydia Lunch here... but the album is very, very acid, played with a gigantic 1800s organ from a church in Copenhagen.

      12 feb 18
Well, with such inspirations, it can't help but please me! As for Anna von Hausswolff, I already have her on my list of things to listen to and dive into.
    • sotomayor
      12 feb 18
She carries herself too much like a dark lady in terms of aesthetics, which I believe forces her into misleading comparisons and definitions. The latest album is surprising.

Back TO black Hj! Please don’t touch Amy, okay! An incredible artist, a fragile soul violated by success.
    • hjhhjij
      19 feb 18
Yes, I know I was wrong about AC/DC, sorry ahahahah. Look, I won’t say anything about the fragile soul violated by success, and I even believe in it; she wasn’t the first and won’t be the last fragile artist, alas, so I can agree on that, unfortunately for her. But it’s about the great artist where I waver; my argument is really about musical quality. The talent is unquestionable, but I don’t find that overwhelming greatness in her proposal (oh my, in that album, which I’ve come to reevaluate a lot over the years, I didn’t consider it at all before). She's sincere, with demons inside, as the Noble would say, all of that, but I don't know, I don’t see such high levels; I’m still a bit resistant. But don’t worry, I’m not going to touch anyone, ahahhaha, because then you dismantled some girls the other time, which man, we’re even :D

In my opinion, your judgment is influenced by the commercial success of Back to Black, which made Rehab play in our heads endlessly, a track that is musically less representative of her talent. Have you ever given Frank a listen?
Anyway, I'd be curious to know (but also afraid to know...) what @[imasoulman] thinks about her.

But no, look, it might have been influenced years ago, especially at the time of the album and single releases, but that was a different conversation, another music to discover, little knowledge of the musical background behind Winehouse's music and obviously a general aversion to modern mainstream music (which, indeed, continues even today and with good reason) led me to completely snub Winehouse. But today, things are different—not even the issue of the overexposure that the singles experienced, and trust me, it’s not about snubbing something because it sold well or that I shouldn't like a good number of albums that I actually like a lot. No, as I said, "Back to Black" is nice, don’t get me wrong; it’s an album that has been reevaluated over the years according to my tastes. My point is just that I don’t feel this GENIUS talent. It’s not that she wasn't good; I just don’t find anything that grand about it. I like it, yes, but I don’t like it to that extent, so looking at her as a top artist, I personally can’t do it, and it brings back to mind the old, unjustified idiosyncrasy. And no, I’ve never listened to "Frank." Just reevaluating the following album positively was a huge success for me. But I keep it in mind; imagine if I wouldn’t be interested in the first album of someone who made visceral quality one of her strengths. In short, it’s not that I think it’s terrible, like I did at the beginning of my musical journey; it’s just that I don’t find it that extraordinary either. Oh, let’s remember that there are a ton of nuances to an artist's appeal for each person; it’s not just Genius or Crap :-)

The little heart is for the song I really like, the Xs at the beginning were sort of a reminder for myself, I would mark those that I needed to explore further. Then the Xs increased based on my preferences. I mean, well, it’s a mess.

I don’t really have any particular genres; the ones I’ve always loved are the older ones. I’ve been listening to a few things from the last 15 years, though, and I’ve found some nice old-school emo bands. I thought it was a genre that had been buried by now, but instead...
