Napalm Death, Carcass, and Firebird: one of the most important figures of the last few decades in heavy metal. Elusive, never in the spotlight... Necro-Cannibal Bloodfeast... more
Abyssal, labyrinthine. Like an old derelict cinema that keeps projecting dreamlike visions, both inviting and chilling. more
The initial staff of a Spectorian infatuation still far from fading. more
"Agent Orange" and "In the Sign of Evil" are definitely the best episodes; as far as I'm concerned, I've never found them exceptional. Technically, there are obvious shortcomings. I should probably listen to them again; I've always preferred Kreator over them. more
An inspired debut, musically flawless, well-balanced, and without flaws. In short, for me, it deserves a perfect score, even just for Lake's voice in "Take a Pebble." Emerson is in a state of grace, and it shows. A truly great first work, without a doubt. 8.5. more
What a beautiful group... Absolutely worth rediscovering. more
Half an hour of progressive delirium, filled with vocal harmonies, crazy tempo changes, and other devilish tricks; there are also melodic examples of rare sweetness (such as “Think of Me with Kindness”, which is a striking example). Perhaps my favorite Giant. 9. more
The first two albums are really good, if not excellent, as in the case of the debut. Up until One by One, they were fun. From In Your Honor onward, a bit self-referential, with some scattered ideas but nothing more. Today they are a stadium rock band, powerful live, but I fear that the memorable work many would have expected will never come. I hope to be proven wrong. So much love for Dave, anyway. more
...after all, if it were called L'Argentina it would still suck. more
Someone who pretends to do everything but knows how to do nothing decently. The singer, no, the host for the love of God... Is it possible that in Italy, the less talent you have, the more success you achieve? more
Acidoacida was one of the saddest episodes in Italian music. more
Execution speed, a cocktail of notes, impeccable sound. In its genre of music, it is unbeatable and second to none, not even to one of the greatest, "Slowhand," whom I really like a lot. But as I always say, everything is subjective. more
A Nazi who shouldn't have all this visibility. more
Great album, not quite as good as the first three (that's why it's a 4), but a great album!! more
The 80s are their best period because they produced masterpieces of pop, while the 70s are quite boring. more
Together with the debut of the previous year, the sum of that shabby sound, at times disheveled, low fidelity; with the individual tracks seeming to drag tiredly towards the end. They have always given me the impression of a group of friends being forced into a recording studio due to contractual obligations; "Range Life" is a small (great) masterpiece with plenty of gossip and teasing directed at overly serious fellow musicians...CUT YOUR HAIR... more
Extraordinary band that has proudly kept the flag of Italian rock high around the world for years. Absolutely stunning the quadrilogy "Storia di un minuto"/"Per un amico"/"L'isola di niente"/"Chocolate Kings", while the double live album with Faber remains, in my humble opinion, one of the highest peaks ever reached by Italian music as a whole. After that, they experienced ups and downs, but they never gave up. Great. more
Defining them? Their music has always moved me like few other things; personally, I can only thank them. more
A rock band that had nothing to envy from others, especially since it was actually a hard rock supergroup. Too bad it ended this way. I give it a 4.5. For me, it shouldn't be placed at the 100th spot with a ranking like this, but at least in the middle... more
