King Crimson -Lizard
Besides prog, I also love Canterbury, and this is perhaps the King Crimson album that is closest to this genre. more
King Crimson -In The Wake Of Poseidon
after the first, Fripp hits the second target here, it's still very enjoyable to listen to even now more
Van Der Graaf Generator -Pawn Hearts
an impressive and majestic orchestration, truly unique in its kind, I don't believe it will ever be matched. more

Smart not to have sold herself to the masses, regardless of the festival. more

Almendra
A slightly unripe group, but they deserve the 4 because their music at the time in Argentina was "epoch-making." It also represents a fundamental step in Luis Alberto Spinetta's career, as there are elements in their music that Spinetta would later revisit with Pescado Rabioso. more
Almendra -Almendra
"Classic" album, very important for Argentine rock. A psychedelic rock with a touch of progressive that makes it very enjoyable. Slightly immature, but it's just the beginning of Luis Alberto Spinetta's career. more

“Fame is but a fruit tree
so very unsound,
it can never flourish
‘till its stalk is in the ground.
So men of fame
can never find a way
‘till time has flown
far from their dying day.
Forgotten while you're here,
remembered for a while,
a much updated ruin
from a much outdated style.” more

Emerson, Lake & Palmer -Brain Salad Surgery
The best album by Emerson, Lake And Palmer, technically analyzed in almost every detail, with that wonder of Karn Evil Nine which rightfully enters among the best suites of all time. It would be a record worthy of the title masterpiece, it’s a shame there’s a filler, namely "Benny The Bouncier" that disrupts the balance. They came very close to the title of masterpiece. A magnificent album. more
Emerson, Lake & Palmer -Tarkus
What a shame, they could have really hit it big. The titular suite is ridiculous at times, and way too long. The second half, beautiful, makes it even more frustrating. A great opportunity wasted. more
Emerson, Lake & Palmer
I like them, but how many opportunities have these wasted, so many good ideas, three phenomena (especially Keith Emerson, rightly on the podium of the best rock keyboardists), yet never able to blend them well, often resulting in being long-winded, filler-heavy, and pretentious, with virtuosity that is often unnecessary and frankly boring. The debut is a nice little disk (ruined by some boring moments and the long tracks that suffer from prolixity), Tarkus is one of the albums that disappointed me the most, incredibly lengthy, with a suite that really should have lasted 15 minutes instead of 2 (thank God for Lake who saves everything in the shorter distances), Trilogy is a good album, and that big record of Brain Salad Surgery (not a masterpiece, thanks to Benny The Bouncier). I give it 3/5 because they do have technical abilities that cannot be overlooked, and for better or for worse they have also made history (albeit in small bursts). It’s just that you don’t make history with technique; you make history with compositions, with the ideal intuition to create masterpieces, what a shame... more

Short but intense career. more
Emerson, Lake & Palmer -Emerson, Lake & Palmer
A good debut for ELP, very inspired, although they suffer from slight prolixity in some long tracks (Take A Pebble) that could have lasted 2 or 3 minutes less, even if they are beautiful and powerful. Good first impression, as they say. But definitely not a masterpiece. Too immature. more
Circa Survive
Cute. Of course, nothing essential, quite the opposite. Super cool voice. more
Manchester Orchestra
Phenomenal debut. After that, they definitely started to decline for me, but they still remain a band that is at least interesting. more
