I find it inexplicable how Let It Bleed topped the charts, dethroning Abbey Road, just as I find it inexplicable that they are labeled as the emblem of rock when in '69 the Stooges and especially Tommy were released. I’ve listened again to the famous quartet from Beggars to Exile, but half of their repertoire is country-blues... at that point, I might as well go back to B.B. King and do a favor for my ears. They’ve written beautiful songs, but I can’t understand their success.
