Mazzy Star, as much as I liked them ("So Tonight That I Might See" is beautiful), seem almost like "little things" compared to a fucking masterpiece like "Happy Nightmare Baby," ultra-acid/paisley garage rock/call it whatever you want, but it's a masterpiece like few. And the collection of "leftovers" that came out afterward, "Early Recordings," is a masterpiece in the same way, despite being outtakes! Much quieter, dreamier, just as "acidic" and floating... May Satan have them in glory. more
Antipop Consortium -arrhythmia
Among the coolest Hip-Hop albums released in the last decade, in the opinion of the writer. Here the beats become epileptic, fragmented, clearly in the Warp school. In fact, the album was released under Warp Records, the label that has produced amazing stuff like Aphex Twin, Autechre, Boards Of Canada, and a good 80% of the coolest and most revolutionary electronic music of the last 25 years. more

Bad Brains
Fast-paced, at times hysterical singing, articulated like a lucid yet frenzied speech. Heavy riffs like boulders with rapid tempo changes, executed with a destructive fervor worthy of Greg Ginn (Black Flag), slapped in the face like sandpaper, ruthless and piercing. The Bad Brains are an authentic destructive machine, a fusion of Hardcore and Reggae, considering that the members previously played in Fusion, Jazz, and even Progressive bands. more

Last night at 11: just me, the headphones, and (again) the Vinyl, the red-orange CBS label in the center. A surge of Punk, Poetry, and lived life that merge into one. "City Drops Into The Night" my personal Masterpiece, "Day & Night" the one that makes me emotional, and a SUBLIME marriage of words and R'n'R. How I love you. more
