Before anything else, I would like to talk about the recent earthquake from last night, even though words in these cases are often useless and can be annoying.

There is nothing natural or normal about a quake that, in an instant, destroys the lives of so many people and entire communities, built over many years brick by brick, along with the houses and the surrounding world.

With every such occasion, I relive the one from '76 in Friuli, where I was stationed nearby for military service, and I remember the pain and destruction that remained after that event, and how necessary it always is for all of us to show solidarity and offer help to those affected.

Instead of money, donate whatever else you can, especially if it’s unnecessary and discarded items.
