Primordial Doors in their purest form! The second side opens with this tribal blues and Morrison's fiery vocals. Another tribute to his beloved primitive cultures, with a mysterious text. "Do you remember when we were in Africa" at the end, thrown in there, is a reference to Rimbaud, one of the figures who influenced and intrigued him the most. He often loved to quote, as one of his favorite books, "A Season in Hell" by the French adventurous poet. In '68, Jim wrote to one W. Fowlie, a professor at Duke and translator of Rimbaud, thanking him: "I needed it because I don't read French well. I'm a rock singer and his book travels everywhere with me." JM. Fowlie would later publish an essay on the connections between the works of the two artists.
