Perhaps you think there are sacred woods and cities of gods and temples rich in offerings?
You will pass through traps and figures of fierce beasts, and however well you follow the right path without error,
you will still have to venture among the horns of the Bull turned against you,
through the arch of the Archer of Emonia and the jaws of the furious Lion,
and through the Scorpion that bends its cruel claws with a long turn
and the Crab that bends its claws in the opposite direction.
And try not to cut obliquely through the five zones of the sky.
There is a path that winds obliquely, with a great curve,
and it remains contained within just three zones, touching neither the southern pole
nor the Great Bear on the side of the Eagle.
Pass through there; you will clearly see the tracks of the wheels.
And so that sky and earth receive equal and just warmth,
do not push the chariot down too low and do not leave it too high in the sky.
If you move too high in the sky, you will burn the heavenly abodes; towards the ground, the earth.
