Here we are again in the realm of myth, with a track from the infernal Claudio Cecchetto, 40 years ahead of his time, who with his Gioca Jouer, only seemingly weird, was actually telling us what we need to do today (and we do it great): SLEEP, GREET... and little more.

PROPHETIC.

Another incredible track, a pillar of post-war Italian pop music. This is Maledetta Primavera by the versatile Loretta Goggi, almost a Raffaella Carrà 2.0. Announced as the sure winner of that year’s Sanremo Festival, she only came in second, overtaken by the devilish Per Elisa by Alice, written by the late Maestro Franco Battiato.

MALEDETTA.

We are at very high levels, it's the wonderful hit Tunnel of Love by Dire Straits. Two boys meet at the amusement park and will spend a magical night together forever, in an immortal melody. A remarkable track.

A LANDMARK.

Al Bano and Romina, between 1980 and 1984, were at their peak; this is one of the many timeless hits produced in those few years. SHARAZAN opens with the sound of ocean waves and a distant chorus of sirens (of Ulysses?). It's almost a masterpiece.

What song is this? Damn.. but why is this album so heavily criticized? Okay, they’re different from before, but to do different things you still have to be good.. what a melody it has..

From 1948 to 1971, every Sunday night Ed Sullivan hosted the greatest and most famous artists on his show, aired on CBS. About ten years ago, re-released in 12 DVDs, an Italian newspaper published the best performances. I’m sharing them with you; there are truly wonderful things.
