My Heart Beat Like A Hammer (Take 2)
This was the debut album of "Fleetwood Mac" from nineteen sixty-eight, also known as "Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac," and it is without doubt one of the most important British blues records from the late '60s and early '70s.
The band is in dazzling form, mostly thanks to the guitar work of the blues idol Peter Allen Greenbaum, aka Peter Green.
Michael John Kells Fleetwood on drums and John Graham McVie on bass would be the only two members to remain constant in the band, forming the rhythm section of Mr. Green and the warm, pulsating heart of this album, with overwhelming tracks like "Got To Move" and more "post-soul" numbers like "I Loved Another Woman."
Peter Green contributed decisively to the sound, and given his exuberant guitar skills, who wouldn’t have allowed him to?
Let's not forget the other talented guitarist, Jeremy Cedric Spencer, who in this CD released in 2004 with 19 tracks, signs as many as 7.
All the lyrics here are pure blues ecstasy, with the band telling us how they've been hurt on the paths of love with such intensity that one might think, ahem, they were left at the altar before even recording this album.
Ultimately, "Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac" remains a simple but extraordinary debut record, performed by a group that would soon find itself facing the destiny of becoming one of the greatest in that musical landscape, but at the very beginning of it all, there was this outstanding album.

When we talk about Big Bands, the Duke and the Count come to mind, but this gentleman is also quite impressive. The only drawback is that it’s said he was a racist.
