Three chord songs on old guitars that sound just like a storm... which communicates teenage anger and rebellion. I wish we were rockin’ in the café tonight... A melancholic farewell, just like the end of the group.

Stealin' Horses' 1988 debut album offers a simple yet genuine pop-country-rock experience marked by catchy melodies and nostalgic lyrics. The reviewer fondly recalls the album from their adolescence and appreciates its straightforward, heartfelt style. Highlights include songs like 'Turnaround' and 'Ballad of Pralltown Café,' featuring memorable storytelling and emotional depth. Despite not being groundbreaking, the album remains a cherished gem for fans of the genre. The group disbanded shortly after their second album, but lead singer Kiya Heartwood continued making music solo. Listen to Stealin' Horses' nostalgic debut and rediscover a heartfelt blend of pop, country, and rock.
It is one of those very few albums in my collection that never ages; it manages to remain constantly light but not superficial, catchy but never trivial. Egan and Rafferty’s voices are among the most beautiful the seventies ever produced, something that could make many more famous and acclaimed groups envious.

Do you want to know one of the most underrated albums in the history of rock? In my opinion, it’s "Teenage Head" by the Flamin’ Groovies. Imagine, at that time it was even rumored that Mick Jagger, after hearing this album, claimed it was superior to their "Sticky Fingers."

Al Stewart remains, in my opinion, a tremendously underrated artist as all his songs throughout his production have always proven to be very enjoyable and relaxing. Even after forty years, the album still feels fresh and played with that masterful blend of technical skill combined with some slight roughness or imperfection that I so love in records from that era.
