"With this magnificent LP, the Florentine band Diaframma brought to life the 'new Italian rock sung in Italian'."

"At a first listen, it may seem heavy, confused, undefined… but trust me, let yourself be carried away by these atmospheres of a 'Florence' snow-covered, almost Siberian."

This review warmly revisits Diaframma's 1984 album Siberia, highlighting its pioneering role in Italian rock sung in Italian. The shift to Miro Sassolini’s powerful voice and Federico Fiumani’s poetic lyrics create a haunting, melancholic atmosphere. Key tracks like "Siberia" and "Amsterdam" showcase the band's dark wave influence and emotional depth. The album remains influential and inspiring decades later. Discover and listen to Diaframma's Siberia, the cornerstone of Italian alternative rock with unforgettable tracks and timeless emotions.

"Side A is a long version of 'Yassassin'... very enhanced and sophisticated... with truly fascinating fender interventions."

"The dance adventure of Litfiba will end here, even though it is not true dance... if only dance were all like this."

Litfiba's 1984 single 'Yassassin' is a sophisticated blend of dance, rock, and oriental influences, born from a memorable live tribute to David Bowie. The song and its B-side 'Elettrica danza' showcase the band's experimental edge during their early years. Despite some rivalry with contemporary bands like Neon, 'Yassassin' stands as a unique piece celebrated by collectors and fans, especially those who admire Bowie's influence. The release includes notable performances and videos, cementing its place as a cult classic. Discover Litfiba's rare 'Yassassin'—listen now and dive into this unique blend of dance, rock, and oriental vibes!

An innovative record for the time but at the same time raw.

For collectors and genre enthusiasts, a true relic to be venerated and contemplated.

This review details Litfiba’s 1982 debut EP, recorded in Florence during the rise of British new wave influences. Featuring five original tracks, the EP blends raw sound and innovative Italian interpretations. Songs like "Guerra" and "Luna" stand out for their atmosphere and musical experimentation. The record is rare and highly collectible, never officially reissued on digital media. Discover Litfiba’s first groundbreaking EP and dive into the roots of Italian new wave music.

The lyrics can be considered true poetry, concluding by saying 'la vita si spegne far le gocce di pioggia.'

'Pioggia' is the darkest track, with Federico’s Fender very angular and the rhythm section formidable... real tribal and gloomy rounds.

Diaframma’s 1982 debut single 'Pioggia / Illusione Ottica' captures the dark post-punk vibe of early 80s Florence. Inspired by British dark wave and influenced by poet Arthur Rimbaud, the record blends gloomy yet poetic lyrics in Italian with tribal rhythms. Though slightly raw in vocal delivery, its atmospheric instrumentation and melodic contrasts made it a collectible cult classic. The single received positive contemporary reviews and helped establish the band's presence beyond Florence. Discover Diaframma’s haunting 1982 debut single—listen now and dive into the roots of Italian post-punk history!

Among my vast collection of Litfiba bootlegs (about a hundred), I chose this one because, besides having very good audio, it contains real gems, with published and unpublished pieces.

Highlighting 12 tracks with many unreleased and unique pieces, it captures the band's dark and intense early style. The performance showcases Piero Pelù's flamboyant presence and the strong musical synergy of band members.  One of the most sought-after items for all record collectors, not just for "Litfiba" fans.

"La preda" talks about the duel between Pelù and his father, who would tell him 'but where do you think you’re going with music??'

This review highlights Litfiba’s rare 1983 7" single 'Luna/La Preda,' cherished by record collectors and fans alike. It details the rarity, musical evolution from previous works, and the social impact of the lyrics. The two tracks showcase the band's early new wave style and hint at their future work on the 1985 album 'Desaparecido.' Special attention is given to the artwork by Pelù and the single’s significance in Litfiba’s career. Explore and listen to Litfiba's rare and iconic 'Luna/La Preda' single to experience a pivotal moment in Italian rock history.

"A track that will remain indelible in our minds... 'Effetto notte'."

"Many define 'Altrove' as Diaframma’s 'Transmission' due to its legendary opening chords."

The 1983 EP 'Altrove' by Diaframma is a landmark in the Italian new wave scene, blending dark, introspective lyrics with haunting synth and guitar work. Featuring vocalist Nicola Vannini, the record offers an atmospheric experience with tracks like 'Effetto notte' and 'Pop art'. The EP's rich visual presentation and historical context highlight the band's pivotal role before Vannini's departure. Overall, it's a deeply evocative and essential listen for fans of dark post-punk. Listen to Diaframma's 'Altrove' EP now and experience the haunting essence of 1980s Italian new wave.
