"The warm of this body that's meltin' with mine, it ain't gonna change me inside, this exitin' lips that are playn' with my skin can't drag me out of my blues". It's 1983 in Florence, and like in many other clubs of the time, this chorus is achieving notable success. It is "My blues is you" by the Florentine band "Neon" led by Marcello Michelotti. A splendid mix, where dark wave and electronics merge into a single entity, even culminating in a dance concentrate. A real gem. . . .

This piece irritated Litfiba because they noticed that people paid much more attention to Neon... even at Slego in Rimini, the presenter announced Litfiba as Neon (to highlight how successful they were at the time) causing the irritation and anger of the five members... who, in protest, wanted to refuse to perform. Once on stage, Piero Pelù broke the microphone stand in two.

Litfiba was invited on May 18, 1984, to the "Bowie night" at the Altro Mondo in Rimini, in honor of Dave Bowie. They decided to perform a rearranged cover of "Yassassin," interpreted in a more dance style with some oriental inserts. It turned out so well that Litfiba decided to release it on record.

They entered the G.A.S. studio, creating three new recordings... the first ones with the never-forgotten Ringo De Palma (R.I.P.) on drums. Side A is a long version of "Yassassin" (extended version), over seven minutes, very enhanced and sophisticated... with a really remarkable rhythm and truly fascinating fender interventions. A video clip was also made, where Piero plays a killer attacking a prelate played by Ghigo (the story could be that of Ali Agca... but also the Pelù-Renzulli divorce of 1999. . ). The song was performed in concerts until 1985, in a completely different, more energetic and rock version... and mythical is the introduction of Yassassin that Pelù made in Carovigno during a summer date in 1985 "the next piece is dedicated to Ali Agca. . . . do you know who Ali Agca is?? He missed the target (and mimics the sound of a gunshot. . . ). . what a bad aim."

Side B of the disc features a real gem filled with oriental sounds. It's "Elettrica danza", a pure Litfiba style piece... which can be listened to as a preview of the upcoming LP already in the works... a beautiful video was shot for it, set in a nocturnal Perugian castle... where Piero chases a ghost-girl and "improvised an electric dance...".
Side B closes with a less enhanced version of "Yassassin" (radio edit), but similar to the previous one. A video was also made for this version, shot in the rehearsal room.

The dance adventure of Litfiba will end here, even though it is not true dance... if only dance were all like this.

From a collector's point of view, the value revolves around 80/100 euros, but the three tracks can also be found on other records: "Elettrica danza" was included as a bonus in the CGD collection "Re del silenzio", released on CD. The two "Yassassin" on the 1991 EP "Proibito".

Sought after abroad as well by fans of the "White Duke".

It's the only record under Litfiba's name by Contempo.
