The Human Expression - Optical Sound

Human Expression - Calm Me Down

Orange County, Los Angeles California… 1966-1967…

Every now and then a triple somersault into the DECADE… for some particular unknown or nearly unknown band that deserves much more than just a casual listen.

Their collection, with the 45s and demos, released posthumously, very posthumously has, at least, slightly compensated for the negative karma they experienced back then. On par with Seeds, 13th, Love, Doors with their first singles released in Los Angeles during that sensational mid-DECADE, they were unable, for various reasons, to continue as would have been logical. One of many: they turned down “Born To Be Wild” by Mars Bonfire due to doubts over the lyrics… you know, the one by John Kay and Steppenwolf…

The Human Expression - Readin' Your Will

Orange County, Los Angeles California… 1966-1967…

Every now and then a triple backflip to the DECADE… for some particular band, unknown or almost, that deserves much more than just a simple listen.

Their collection, with the 45s and demos, released posthumously, very posthumously, has at least somewhat compensated for the negative karma they had at the time. On the level of the Seeds, 13th Floor Elevators, Love, and the Doors, with their first singles released in Los Angeles during that sensational mid-DECADE, they failed, for various reasons, to continue as would have been logical. One of the many: they rejected "Born To Be Wild" by Mars Bonfire due to doubts about the lyrics… that of John Kay and Steppenwolf, just to be clear…

The Attention! - Have a Drink

The Attention! - Messer Raus

My favorites…

VIENNA - 2009/2012

Not often, but when Austria shows up, they are truly Noble refreshing gems.

For those who love that garage-mod infused with Soul and Black atmospheres.
Only two albums, unfortunately. But better a few of blood than many bland and hypocritical, savansadir.

I thought of the Most Noble Commander @[Carlos]

I can’t find everything, but today follow me if you’d like…

Two Times

Ground Shaker

Sweden - garage & related - first decade of the millennium… needless to say, very tasty…

It's like saying…
Brazil - beautiful woman… no need to specify, great ass…

Anyway, three albums, the songs are on YouTube but it's a mess that I won't get into… all three are good but especially the last one.

It feels like being in 1966 during Swinging London and stepping into a place where they play… that more mod, more psycho, more afrobeat, more soul garage…

MONKEYWRENCH - ON YOUR ARRIVAL

The Monkeywrench - Stop This World

Damn, even DeMarga wrote about it...

Garage-PunkBlues-Psychedelia -hard Rock... it's tough, but when it clicks, it becomes an astonishing thing... in the end, it's always and only Rock'n'Roll...

Vocals and Bass from ex-Mudhoney, if I'm not mistaken, Tim Kerr and another strung-out guy on guitar, and the talented Martin Bland on drums, pounding like the most Noble of the Most Noble blacksmiths.

Monkeywrench - Bring On The Judgement Day

The Monkeywrench - Solar Revelations

Fuck, DeMarga had written about it too…

Garage-Punk-HardRock-Blues-Ps ychdelia… it’s tricky, but when it works it becomes something extraordinary… in the end, it’s always and only Rock and Roll…

Vocals and Bass from ex-Mudhoney if I'm not mistaken, Tim Kerr and another junkie shredding on guitar, and the one and only Martin Bland on drums, hitting like the most Noble of the Noblest blacksmiths.

The Johnnys - I Think You're Cute (Official Video) [HQ]

The Johnnys - Ten Outlaws

Spencer Patrick Jones… only someone skilled should tell about Him… his first "successful" band was probably the Gionni, true pioneers of the infamous CowPunk, definitely in Australia. Rock 'n' roll, alcohol, brawls, and various messes…

The Nobili Bovari, reactionary and alcoholic, who released only two albums - as far as I know - but still sound good now, old drunken bellies… fabulous… everywhere there’s a bit of a ruckus to be made…

Spencer left us too soon, his liver had had enough… an absolute protagonist with Beast Of Bourdon, Hoodoo Gurus… ex The Scientists among his fellow friends… always there we are…

Cajun Woman - The Johnnys

The Johnnys - Bleeding Heart

Spencer Patrick Jones… only someone skilled should recount him… his first “successful” band was probably the Gionni, authentic pioneers of the infamous CowPunk, certainly in Australia. Rock and roll, alcohol, brawls, and various shenanigans…

The Nobili Bovari, reactionary and alcoholic, only released two albums - as far as I know - but they still sound great today, old drunken bellies… fabulous… in every place where there’s a bit of chaos to stir up…

Spencer left us too soon, his liver had had enough… an absolute protagonist with Beast Of Bourdon, Hoodoo Gurus… former The Scientists among his friends-comrades… we’re always there…

Ron Gallo - "Young Lady, You're Scaring Me" [Official Video]

Ron Gallo - "Am I Demon?" [Audio Only]

Oh, this RONGALLO is STRANGE, huh? He seems like a great subject using good stuff… beautifully quirky, capable of a garage hit as well as an electro-pop track, blues-rap, lo-fi… Never banal…
But surely nobly out of his mind…

My two favorites…
#maybe

I discovered him through the Colette series… not sure with whom, but it had already been written about.

The Strypes - Rollin' and Tumblin'

The Strypes - Blue Collar Jane

MY FAVORITES… UNSTOPPABLE…

One of the best PUB ROCK - ROCK’N’ROLL albums…

Pub Rock, right?! Blues, Garage, badass and tight Rock'n'Roll. In short, do you like my beloved Dr. Feelgood, Graham Parker, Yardbirds, Bo Diddley, and their noble company?!

In 2013, the debut of these 4 underage rascals was a deadly blow… I didn't remember it being so lethal, to be honest.
I can hardly imagine if they played it at school… with Wilko and Lee laughing at them…

And if even the Venerable got excited… you see…

(Unfortunately, I don't think they confirmed… but who cares)

And if even the Venerato got excited… just see for yourselves…

(Unfortunately, I don’t think they confirmed themselves… but who cares)

The Strypes - She's so fine

The Strypes - What A Shame

One of the best PUB ROCK - ROCK’N’ROLL albums...

Pub Rock, right?! Blues, Garage, rough and tough Rock'n'Roll. In short, do you like my beloved Dr. Feelgood, Graham Parker, Yardbirds, Bo Diddley and noble company?!

In 2013, the debut of these four underage rascals hit like a ton of bricks... I didn't remember it being that lethal, to tell the truth.
I can’t even imagine if they played it at school… with Wilko and Lee chuckling while watching them…

And if even the Venerato got excited... just saying…

(Unfortunately, they didn't seem to confirm, but who cares)

The Setting Son - In a certain way

You Better Run Away From Me

My favorites… “in a certain way” is an anthem…

Sebastian Kristiansen must be the little brother of Lorenzone Woodrose… Sebastian, in the spring of 2007, was among the protesters against the closure of the “Youth House” in Copenhagen… an underground place for music and a meeting spot for left-wing Danish youth. Their new rehearsal space, an old World War II bunker… people come, people go…

Psychedelia, freakbeat, garage…

Produced by Lorenzone himself, Bad Afro label… is more needed?! Ah, Lorenzo plays too… do you want him to sit still?!

Oh, I love Baby Woodrose… well, it’s known…

Sebastian Kristiansen must be the little brother of Lorenzone Woodrose… In the spring of 2007, Sebastian was among the protesters against the closure of the "Youth House" in Copenhagen… an underground place for music and a meeting point for young leftist Danes. Their new rehearsal space, an old World War II bunker… people coming and going…

Psychedelia, freakbeat, garage…

Produced right by Lorenzone, Bad Afro label… is there more needed?! Ah, Lorenzo plays too… you think he can stay still?!

Ah, I love the Baby Woodrose… well, that’s known…

Sebastian Kristiansen must be the younger brother of Lorenzone Woodrose... In the spring of 2007, Sebastian was among the protesters against the closure of the "Youth House" in Copenhagen... an underground venue for music and a meeting place for leftist Danish youths. Spring of Hate, he wrote precisely recalling those days... in their new rehearsal space, an old World War II bunker...

Psychedelia, freakbeat, garage...

Produced right by Lorenzone, Bad Afro label... do you need anything else?!

the cool jerks - can't quit

The Cool Jerks- Your Really Got A Hold On Me

I can’t help but share this wonderful cover of that extraordinary legendary Smokey… because rock and roll steals your soul… right @[imasoulman]?!

Memphis… early millennium…

And if we’ve talked about and listened to Greg Cartwright's “Oblivians” and will do even more, let’s not lose sight of the noble half-brother Jack Yarber “Oblivians” with him also in Compulsive Gamblers alongside some idiots from Neckbones… damn those Neckbones… with a lethal garage-punk-rock and roll album
