Every now and then a triple backflip to the DECADE… for some particular band, unknown or almost, that deserves much more than just a simple listen.
Their collection, with the 45s and demos, released posthumously, very posthumously, has at least somewhat compensated for the negative karma they had at the time. On the level of the Seeds, 13th Floor Elevators, Love, and the Doors, with their first singles released in Los Angeles during that sensational mid-DECADE, they failed, for various reasons, to continue as would have been logical. One of the many: they rejected "Born To Be Wild" by Mars Bonfire due to doubts about the lyrics… that of John Kay and Steppenwolf, just to be clear…
