P.S. I really like "Down" from another album, and the live video is nice too.

A smooth, calm, and interesting review because it contains sufficient details. Thanks to you, I discovered this group, and Hollow Inside is beautiful. I'm not saying they're among my all-time favorites, but they've been a good find. I will continue to look for their tracks. Bye bye.

It seems to me a good review, showing commitment both in the research of terms and in the choice of concepts to convey, enriched by the enthusiasm that shines through the words. I loved Lamento eroico by Rhapsody and I like Where Dragons Fly, while many things are quite unbearable for me. I will look for some of the tracks you suggest, thanks for the recommendation. Bye bye.
Therion Secret Of The Runes

Aside from a few minor mistakes, like "un'elegante" before a masculine noun and "un'insieme," little errors that slightly disrupt the reading, I like your review; it’s inspired, you provide enough details, and you do it in a personal and fresh way.
Now, my opinion on Therion: I HATE them; I would strangle them one by one and then throw them off a cliff... exaggerated, right? And do you know why I feel such vehemence? Because they produced two tracks, "The Siren of the Woods" and "Clavicula Nox," which are among my absolute favorites in this world. However, in these three years I’ve known them, I haven’t found anything else that’s as good, but rather only things I find unbearable. It’s like receiving vinegar candies after honey ones from the same people, and that’s why I’m frustrated with them! I’ll try to listen to the tracks you suggest in this review; who knows, maybe something will resemble the two masterpieces I mentioned. I’ll tell you, even "Lemuria" doesn’t excite me; I know many like it... In conclusion, I wish they would stick to more symphonic metal and not waste their talent on stuff that’s good for adrenaline rushes but essentially lacks a precise identity. Thanks for letting me share my thoughts. Bye bye!

I recently got to know this group and I missed your review. Well written, with many references and details. I really like some of their songs, for example "Lake of Sorrow," "All Alone," and "Forever," which you mentioned. Now that I’ve read your review, I understand why they often remind me of Tristania, perhaps mostly due to the use of violins. Although SOTB are even more captivating, they remind me of the violins in Irish music even though the underlying melodies are completely different; it’s that idea of a swirling yet cheerful rhythm, vital in its energy! There’s a video of "Lake of Sorrow" on YouTube that I love; the singer with the purple lips is spectacular. After a while, she appears with a good girl style, barely moving her lips, and with that strange husky voice, she produces sounds with extreme naturalness, but she’s really good, no doubt about it. I’m sorry to hear they disbanded; we should prevent good bands from breaking up, in the interest of humanity, hehehehe.

Too kind! As they say in English, "you made my day," your compliment truly made me happy. I come to Debaser precisely because there are different people who write well, with a clear personal style and enthusiasm for sharing their passions with others, and you are among them. Well, having made this mutual love declaration, we can get back to our lives, heheheheh. Bye bye!

Welcome back! Your review is evocative, but in my opinion, while you capture the main essence of the group's spirit, there's more to say because their production is more complex than it appears when reading these lines. Paganism, for example, turns into a fierce anticlericalism in their hands: the song "Preacher Man," among other things beautiful and immediately gripping due to its intensity, would make the few hairs on the pope's head stand up! The priest is seen as the embodiment of subtle and tempting evil, making Eve's serpent seem innocent by comparison.
Moreover, in terms of music, "Sweet Morpheus" is light-years away from the beautiful "Queen of the May," for example, but even "We Belong with the Dead" has little to do with the tracks on the album you're reviewing. However, I must say that the latter song, musically stunning, makes me critical of the group, because the apotheosis of suicide seen as liberation from pain, while it may not bother most, could negatively influence some depressed teenager; I wouldn’t have done it if I were in their shoes.

Can someone explain to me why reviews of metal groups often provoke such exaggerated reactions, as if we were debating an extreme political viewpoint against its opposite, or a football team against another? I mean, we’re talking about music, right? Who are the "metallers," a separate category? And is someone who likes gothic or symphonic metal considered a metallers like the others, or do they have "mitigating circumstances"? Honestly, maybe it's because I'm not a girl, but I just don’t understand the hatred some have towards people who, with perfect innocence, enjoy music like that reviewed above. Regards.

I bought the album and so I can give a rating to that too. It’s beautiful, certain tracks, like track 9, are stunning in a painful way. I don't know nihilo, I can't imagine a different voice; it’s clear that I find it well integrated with the rest unlike you. You have to admit it's a very unique voice, (sometimes hoarse), and "ethereal and breathless" seem like two good adjectives to describe it; it increases my interest in the whole.

Welcome back, it's a pleasure to read your reviews and follow your advice. I don't give you the highest score for this review, although well written, because the narrative flows up to a certain point: you’re glad everyone is dead and then what, do you die too? Nah, this shocking ending doesn’t convince me; it would have been much more logical and interesting (but harder to describe) if you, as the protagonist, continued to live alone among discarded televisions and rivers of now useless words. Besides that, I would have liked some clarification on the individual tracks.
Anyway, "But Debaser no longer exists. The editors have disappeared" is wonderful...oh my god, the editors have disappeared...now that really is the end of the world hehe. With affection, bye bye.
