I thank everyone for the lexical efforts made to associate the word Poco with its common meaning in Italian. The group was originally supposed to be called Pogo, then for some reason they switched to Poco.
Of course, no one has ever been to a Poco concert.
Van der Graaf The Quiet Zone / The Pleasure Dome
Voto:
Ugly record, the violin fails to make itself interesting, Hammill's textures are unconvincing, the production is modest, the sounds are muddled. Only Banton holds up.
I had it, I gave it away, next to "H to He..." it made me cringe.
Status Quo Whatever You Want
Voto:
I saw them live in Bologna in the eighties, just a few years after the release of this fine album with its perfect opener. I spent three-quarters of the time devouring with my eyes—and ears—the incredibly powerful rhythmic style of poor Parfitt: a machine; among the best rhythm guitarists ever, along with Townshend, Young, Van Halen, Johnston, Bettencourt, Richards, Robinson, Stevens, Nielsen.

The reason why (not always, by the way) I proceed with several reviews in a row of the same artist is that the site is crammed with reviews of everything and everyone. So, I identify the gaps still open, the missing reviews regarding an artist, and I proceed to fill them in. Sometimes there are just a few, other times many more, as in the present case with Walsh.
But sometimes I also have my own "emergencies"... Newly purchased albums that make me want to write about them right away, or sudden reappraisals of some music already present in my collection (which I am constantly sifting through with my listening). Another "emergency" that makes me write can be, unfortunately, the passing of one of my musical heroes.
U2 Days of Ash EP

I am a glorious non-owner of any U2 record.
Porcupine Tree The Incident
Voto:
Excellent album, among the best by Porcupine.
I like "The Blind House," "Kneel and Disconnect," "Drawing the Line," "Time Flies," "I Drive the Hearse," and "Remember Me Lover."
The weak ones are actually Wilson's latest solo albums (I haven't listened to the very latest yet).
Peter Jackson The Beatles: Get Back
Voto:
Spector's magic was greatly appreciated by Harrison, who had him produce All Things Must Pass, and by Lennon, who had him produce ecc.ecc.
Apple did not have recording studios. EMI did, at Abbey Road. The concert was on the roof of the EMI offices and not Apple, in the city center.
For everything else, congratulations and thank you.
Joni Mitchell Turbulent Indigo

My Van Gogh from Helsinki inspired the finest ironies. I take note and rush to review the third Deep Purple album with the German Bosch on the cover, whose son started the drill factory. And then that other one by Propaganda, with its Boccioni of Argentine descent.
