Thank you, Chae! :D The fact is that I'm an ex "reviewer" and a stickler with a capital S, so in the end, my comment turned into a review of the review! ^_^
I understand what you mean about vulgarity, but it's a very recurring element in rap. Many American songs that we listen to (I’m speaking generally) blissfully and define as ā€œcuteā€ contain heavy vulgarities... When we hear them in Italian, it bothers us. Personally, I'm not opposed to vulgarities in general; it depends on the context of the song. Staying on the topic of Fibra, in "Mr. Simpatia," the vulgarities are necessary for expressing the concept and the negative feelings (essentially frustration) that the album conveys to our ears.

Little bear: is rock Italian? Is punk Italian? Is dark Italian? Is metal Italian?

Hi Severus02, I read that this is your first review on DeBaser, is it also your very first one? I'm not a pro in this field, but I hope my opinion can be useful to you. First of all, I found it very informative (cds, dvds, track names, references to other albums, collaborations on the record...) and well-structured. For example, I liked the ending where you concluded with a quote from Fibra in the last line. The general tone is calm and impersonal. Here’s where I see a problem: from my point of view, the "impersonal" tone clashes with the series of very subjective comments you made, for example: "...they didn't particularly satisfy me...", "...that I maybe prefer in the album...", "...the one that satisfied me the most is..." One last thing: are you sure the verb "mistare" exists in the Italian vocabulary???
Now let’s move on to my opinion about the album: first of all "Vip In Trip." I know it's a single, and I know it's an almost national-popular hit. I know that "perepe-perepe-quaqua-perepe" is not a line from a text of elevated IQ, yet I still can't consider "Vip In Trip" a piece, as you put it, written "for a commercial audience." The beat is wonderful, not very hip-hop yet impactful: cheerful, upbeat, clever. The lyrics, despite everything, have various references to Italian political life, including scandals, with wordplay that isn't entirely trivial. For me, "Vip In Trip," video included, is a really great piece with substance, in addition to being well marketable and fortunately appreciated by many. I like it in your review when you point out the presence of many wordplays in this album, which relates back to your point about Fabri Fibra who "doesn't renounce" (see Fibra's "crossword-type" rapper past). Finally, can I say what my favorite piece is? "Non potete capire": I love Fibra's comedic side! << I walk around with an alien next to me who says: "You don’t seem very happy..." / "I’m on a mission from God." / "But God doesn’t exist, and you, my friend, deserve better!" / "Hey, thanks! I’m back from space, I just received superpowers and my code name is: 'Testa di cazzo'" >> :D
Thank you for reviewing an album of ITALIAN RAP, Severus. I love hip-hop, I've been following it since 1989, and every time, by any means, hip-hop music is discussed, alongside the usual number of people who rant against this genre, there will always be someone who remains curious and starts to get passionate. Peace.

I agree with the review: you call it an album to listen to in the shower, I call it an album to listen to in the car (I don't have a stereo in the bathroom, you know!)

Broadcast Work and Non Work
Voto:
@psychopatia: everyone talks about this similarity between Broadcast and Stereolab... honestly, I find them different. Stereolab are dreamy, like taking a journey through the stars, while Broadcast take you... "PLUF!", back in time.

a very loooong review but done properly, just like the album. :)
David Fincher Se7en

Se7en is one of those "must-see" movies. You may like the genre or not (for instance, I don’t), but technically it’s well made. Form is not substance, but for me it accounts for 50% of the film. And then there's the attachment because the murderer of "Lust" is my Leland Orser (in the cast, he’s referred to as "crazed man in the massage parlor").

Bullet, I'm glad you've changed your mind. I've also picked up this CD again in the last few days and... what can I say, the narcissism and the overflowing arrangements captivate me. Looking at things from above with lightness and even irony. Rufus, thank you for existing!
Fabri Fibra Bugiardo

I honestly expected more from Fibra. "Tradimento" was a great album, some tracks shoot straight to the top of my personal universal chart. In "Tradimento," he spoke as an average Italian; here he speaks as Fabri Fibra and Fabrizio Tarducci and tones down both the lyrics and the style a bit. Those who despise the rap genre in itself would do well to refrain from commenting at all.
