The single, musically speaking, doesn't say much to me.. the album should be listened to. Moreover, from the review, it's not very clear what to expect.

I really like Moonspell, especially the first two albums. From this one, I particularly enjoy the cover by Madredeus, which is truly beautiful. For this reason, I find the review, which is very beautiful and evocative, somewhat wasted on this album that, in my opinion, isn't that great. I don't see the resemblance to Dave Gahan, but I believe the band is heavily influenced by a certain Dark-Wave.

If I'm not mistaken about The Bronx, who are unknown to me (and I believe to others as well), there was a review not too long ago. It's intriguing to find them on the homepage under false pretenses.

Instead, the German thrash metal piques my curiosity (unlike the "classic" German heavy metal). Nice review of a band I only know by name.

Rodriguez has a few decent films? What about the Mariachi trilogy? This might not be a 5, but I'd still give it one, it drove me crazy. There are some gems in this movie, starting with a more out of place than ever George Clooney. A cool and entertaining film.

Five hundred thousand years ago, I liked Pornoriviste (not that I'm proud of it); not long ago, I also had the (dis)honor of hearing them live! Disgustorama.

Hell, bad story. I mean, it’s bad for me because when nostalgia hits me, I can’t quell it. Maybe if the present were a little less messed up, sometimes I would be able to return to the past in a more peaceful way. I hope it’s not like that for you, but I’m glad to share this to some extent.

I liked In Absentia, even though it felt a bit influenced by the names riding the wave at the time (Tool, A Perfect Circle, Opeth ...). In my opinion, it doesn't really sound like their stuff ... the aggressive moments feel a bit forced to me. That would be worth checking out. Beyond that, they’re great musicians anyway, considering that someone like Richard Barbieri was already one of Japan more than a decade earlier ...

Hell, I also stay under every now and then :-). Terrible moments.

Apart from the fact that I also think S.O.I.A. are more New School, it’s just a typical negligible pseudo-polemical comment from Franci. In my opinion, the review could have been much more concise; from halfway through, it gets lost in a self-indulgent panegyric (not that the band doesn't deserve it, but something more substantial could have been said if the intent was indeed to praise them). The album is, in my humble opinion, one of the most badass they’ve made alongside Built To Last and Call To Arms; by the way, if I remember correctly, this is the only one released on a major label (another thing the review doesn’t mention, which I think is not irrelevant). It would be worth seeing them live, yes, even though I’m not a big fan of the various "circle pit" and "wall of death".
