Oasis saved English music from collapse in '94, respect for those who crafted songs that are classics at first listen.. great review, are u mad fer it?

If it weren't terribly boring, it would also be a nice album!

I completely agree with the review: an unfairly and incredibly underrated album, it might be a bit understated, but who feels love? and gas panic are a certain level of psychedelia, fuckin in the bushes is better than the fucking primal scream, sunday morning call is delicate and moving...

What can I say about this album? Simply beautiful... this is what I thought back in '95, and I’m not ashamed to reiterate it forcefully today. We are dealing with a delightful sound, enjoyable, immediate, and catchy songs that can capture you without asking for your consent. Noel Gallagher crafts tracks that are classics upon first listen, aided by the best rock voice of the late century, that of the tumultuous Liam... the result is near perfection. It starts with the glam-rock energy of Hello, moves through the Stones-esque Roll with it... then comes the best love song of the decade (Wonderwall)... and what can I say about Don't look back in anger, borrowing the definition used by LA REPUBBLICA: "immortal anthem of joy," good Hey Now, but the best is yet to come, a mythical road piece like Some Might Say, the excellent Cast no shadow... and then we skip a couple of tracks before arriving at the robust guitar riff of morning glory and closing beautifully with the epic and dazzling Champagne Supernova... stuff for kids? Those who love traditional rock, classic rock and pop that is fresh and spontaneous will still get chills down their spine, and who knows, maybe in the end, theirs will be A DAY OF GLORY!!!!!!!!

To prove that I am a balanced fan, I don't particularly like this album; it's too noisy and imprecise in its arrangements, 2-3 definitely ugly tracks, 2-3 definitely good ones... Peace and Love!!!

I'm a fan of Oasis, but I don't consider myself a die-hard supporter; I recognize their limits and mistakes. It seems absurd to tear down everything they do (or almost everything) just because they're not particularly original and versatile. This is a remarkable debut... if even the Wild Bunch gave it 4 stars in its time, there must have been a plausible reason, right? I don't love Radiohead to madness, but I have great respect for them and I don't think I would have the same spiteful and ungenerous attitude that Sallu has directed at Oasis... This is confusion, am I confusing you?

I am dismayed, astonished, bewildered... Oasis debut with the best album ever since the Stone Roses, powerful, sunny, fresh, spontaneous, everything that Radiohead have never been and can never be... and you tear it down?? Incredible! I know a girl called Elsa, she's into Alka Seltzer.
Coldplay 24/06/03 Live in Fano

I really like Coldplay for the relaxed and serene atmosphere they convey; what's wrong with that? Last year at Valle Giulia, they moved me, and (listen up) I went from the seventh row to the front without being hindered by screaming and excited girls. In the end, I was satisfied with the performance the four of them gave us and disappointed that it lasted only an hour and twenty. Cheers!!!
