"Dear ones. You should record a nice album, with INNOVATIVE lyrics and equally INNOVATIVE music, instead of just talking." Ahahahahahahahahahaha. Ahahahahaha! hahahahaha! ashahahahhaha!!! Hihihihi! Well done. Regarding the innovative lyrics, please refer to page 94 of the textbook, in the paragraph "Massimo Volume."

"Italy reveals itself as new yet old, bipolar and Berlusconian, with the League at 7% in Emilia-Romagna and the left without a single seat in Parliament: 'they really took everything from us' and therefore there is no better moment for Bachelite." -------------> Yes, indeed. When things go to SHIT, it's right to highlight these moments with music by .....

Yes, but Ajeje just wrote to me that your ass is universal too. That's why he supported you. :-)

Ah well, because the rhythm of Can is '70s.... come on, Ene', you like Faust and Neu more, but that doesn't mean you should talk about the greater universality of these two compared to Can. At the very least, because your tastes are not universal.

"I Can better than Stravinsky, Arvo Part and Ligeti?" Given that I love them, absolutely NOT.

The first Nyman is awesome. The post-minimalist one. The one from The Piano, on the other hand, is a letdown. And indeed, Eluvium draws inspiration from the worst Nyman, affected and mannered. Just to still be on the same page as Enea :-).

Why is the ending ridiculous? Even Beethoven is a child of his time; I wasn't being ironic, I truly believe that. It can't be otherwise; the music he developed isn't suspended in space but has roots, firmly grounded.

The noisy and avant-garde pieces by Can don't have a damn thing to do with the '70s.

@ Eneathedevil: Look, I've known krautrock from Faust for a while now. Frankly, I find Faust less accessible, but that doesn't make them any less products of their time compared to Can. And don’t come telling me that Neu! sounds less '70s than Can. That's a partisan comment! You are biased!

@Eneathedevil: forgive me, but that sounds like a load of crap. Especially because often an album turns out to be a product of its time more because of its sound (and therefore its production and recording instruments) than because of the ideas contained within. The fact that a band like Can can be judged as outdated is negated by the incredible influence they have had and still have on a myriad of bands. For example, a super cool album from last year like Transparent Things by Fujiya & Miyagi, which certainly doesn't sound dated, owes a lot to Can. And in a way, any album is a product of its time, even though there are albums that manage to anticipate certain types of sound by decades. But that's not the only thing that matters. Even Beethoven is a product of his time.
