Uri Caine Ensemble The Goldberg Variations
Voto:
Right now I'm re-listening to the Goldberg Variations in Glenn Gould's interpretation, the last interpretation before he passed away, and I honestly think it’s one of my favorite records. However, I didn’t know they had also been reinterpreted in this way (and damn, how many seemingly distant sounds are being called into play), especially since I've never listened to anything by Uri Caine. I’m off to look for that damn record right away! And done by an ensemble too, it must be amazing!

I remind the kind viewers that Coolermaster once said that Rock Bottom by Robert Wyatt is not a fundamental record. Someone who really knows music, in short.

Drawn in by the crowd of comments on the review, I read it and found it enjoyable, and at times pleasantly controversial. As for the description of the "moccioso," I confirm: I am a moccioso, I'm just over 20 years old and I've listened to much more music than I would have if I had lived 30 years ago. The mocciosi of 30 years ago, like nettadebaser/supersoul, listened to much more music than a late 19th-century enthusiast could have, who had to go to concerts just to hear anything. Saying "TODAY" and giving it a negative connotation compared to "YESTERDAY" is a nice exercise in intellectual depth, a pleasant controversy, albeit somewhat barren. As for the album, I already have too much downloaded material to listen to superficially and without reading the lyrics to start searching again, even if it seems interesting. Let’s say that in two days (which equate to 2 years of listening in 1969) I’ll download it and listen to the first track.

".... you see Enè... Kosmo says it too.... (K. you forget Maddana....). Nina Hagen was fantastic, as was Kate Bush and Cindy Lauper... I loved Sade. But in the '90s who was of that level???". But excuse me, do you mean "high" level or "pop star who still doesn't look bad"? In terms of quantity, maybe the '80s produced quite a few, but for sure someone like Tori Amos doesn’t compare, for instance, or Sheryl Crow. But if we really want to talk about quality outside of the flirty pop realm, I would also mention someone like Lisa Germano (and we're talking serious stuff, not half-baked nonsense like Cyndi Lauper, come on), or Beth Gibbons of Portishead. Only if we want to stay within the female sphere, of course.

In fact, I double down: let’s all make a '80s list and see who can pee the farthest.

I can also make a list of all the '80s songs I've listened to so I can compare it with geeeeenooooo's and see who has the longer one?

"I am young and I need tranquility and positive values." ----> Then it is (finally) time for you to start doing drugs.
Port-Royal Afraid To Dance

An album that didn't impress me, well-produced with nice sounds, but compositions that I found rather flat. Just sufficient.
Ludwig van Beethoven The Late Piano Sonatas

A romantic, indeed titanic review. : )
Nowadays, it’s probably impossible for a musical personality to emerge that could rival that of Beethoven, or at least I find it hard to believe that such a thing could exist.

"Certainly, I ruined my day, but it was worth it to write such a review." ----> Yes, indeed, you can say it loud, buddy.
