SPARKLING ONCE UPON A TIME...
That old fat guy cannot be him. This is the first thing that comes to my mind when I look at VASCO ROSSI
It can't be him because I don't want to remember him like this.
No VASCO, this isn't right, there comes a moment when you need to slowly fade away to leave a good memory.
You can't be what you have become, I like to remember you when you sang songs you felt, remember VITA SPERICOLATA, ALBACHIARA, SIAMO SOLO NOI, back then you believed in what you sang, now you're just a MONEY machine, a singer like so many others. This is not a criticism, it's just that I want to remember you as the friend of my 18 years, as you do with the first girls who always remain beautiful in memory even if they are now AWFUL, the important thing is the memory, and I want to remember you when you had ideas and not like now when you get on stage like the circus animal you've become.
I'm sorry but you're no longer VASCO ROSSI, now you're just any old MR. ROSSI who doesn't accept the evidence of TIME, I'm sorry for the FANS but the truth is a harsh beast to swallow.
My VASCO ends with LIBERI LIBERI, it stops there, where are JENNY and SILVIA, where has ALFREDO gone with his serious speeches... but weren't you the one who said C'E' CHI DICE NO? You were the one who sang NON SIAMO MICA GLI AMERICANI and now you act like the ROLLING STONES.
After this little venting preamble, I'd like to recommend perhaps the best ALBUM of VASCO ROSSI, but we must go back at least 20 years. and that's a lot, the album doesn't need many words, I'm talking about BOLLICINE, few songs, only 8, but made with the desire to be a NUISANCE, listen to PORTATEMI DIO or DEVIAZIONI and then, like in summer games, spot the differences.
With Bollicine, Vasco forcefully enters the ranks of the big names in Italian music.
Bollicine is one of Blasco’s best albums: aggressive, transgressive, and romantic!!!
For many, this is the last noteworthy Vasco. The spiritual testament of the early period, the rock-singer-songwriter period, the true one.
Even the most zealous critics of Vasco have never been able to answer with elegant clarity a simple question, 'where did Vasco get tracks like "fegato spappolato," "giocala," or "siamo solo noi"?'
Vasco, in 1983... released his consecration as a rockstar: 'Bollicine'.
'Vita spericolata' remains an example of a 'cursed' text that fits perfectly on deep and enveloping music.
