Sting & Gil Evans Last Session
Voto:
Great review capable of stirring interest for an album I haven't explored.

"The first to experiment with the concept album??? Come on, let's be serious for a moment, otherwise we'll soon be saying that Zero invented the symphony and Dolby Surround as well... De André had already released "La Buona Novella" in 1970, but you could even consider "Tutti Morimmo A Stento," which is two years earlier, to be a concept."

I concede everything but Fosca, to say that that garbage "About Face" is better than this takes courage! Were you serious???

Personal judgments are fine, but that doesn’t mean that in the end, everything is up for debate. One might not ā€œlikeā€ the Divine Comedy, just to name one example, but it’s a work on which history has already passed its judgment. Now, let’s talk about contemporary music, which is certainly less historicized, but we can’t pretend that everything is relative because, whether we like it or not, it isn’t.
Franco Battiato L'imboscata
Voto:
Touches on the masterpiece here Battiato, although for me the absolute best of the Sgalambro period is the subsequent "Gommalacca," perhaps less accessible but more cohesive and entirely free of weak points. "Amata Solitudine" does not measure up to the rest of the album, which is exceptional, and it would take away half a point, but I still round it up to 5 anyway.
Franco Battiato Come Un Cammello In Una Grondaia

Of course, Pietro is right about Al Biruni, who was indeed a geographer and a mathematician; I went by memory and didn't verify, which was a mistake.
Pink Floyd Dark Side Of The Moon
Voto:
Well, the orthodox Pink Floyd fan can't let "pink fluid" go unnoticed... pages and pages of analysis have been written about the album, it has been dissected thoroughly, but the fact that someone still feels the need to talk about it says something nonetheless.

Well, it seems quite delirious to me that De Gregori, who objectively plays in a different league, is compared to Zero. Zero, especially in recent years, has left behind the transgressions and has become a singer of good sentiments, aiming – and has always aimed – at the popular... Some good melodic insights that don’t make him a great musician, and much of a character, in debt to the greats across the Channel.
Pink Floyd Relics
Voto:
Relics undoubtedly deserves credit for making available on album/CD some tracks, 6 out of 11, that would otherwise be hard to find.
