Roger Waters The Dark Side Of The Moon Live
Voto:
Well, musically, Waters is the most repetitive of the three. Especially from the 80s onward. As a solo artist, good music can be found in Amused To Death, but other than that, there really isn’t much to salvage. Even Gilmour, outside of the Floyd, hasn't done anything remarkable; let's be clear, we all agree that About Face is terrible, but there is definitely something better overall.

If you've heard how she "sings" in the Dark Side DVD, you would understand that he can't even manage it if he wanted to... it was beyond his reach even back then. But then again, this is exactly the weak point of these Watersian concerts: in Dark Side, Roger sings little or nothing, so maybe it would have been better to focus on something else. Who knows.

"As a composer, David isn't even worth a thousandth of Roger." Bum. Maybe you meant "as a lyricist." At least I hope so. After all these years, some Pink Floyd fans still don't have the honesty to take off their fan hats and give Caesar what belongs to Caesar.
Carmen Consoli Mediamente Isterica

Yes, looking back at it, there was indeed a certain level of misunderstanding! :-)

No. Read carefully what I wrote; I'm referring to the fact that the reviewer modestly self-censored by using two dots instead of two "l"s in palle (!). Now if someone is afraid to use a certain term, they shouldn't use it, but if they do, they should dare (you know...) to go all the way, right?

I've never been able to stand the voice. Especially on those first albums. And the lyrics are still marked by terrible self-indulgence. It comes off a bit like that, but if you feel like you need to say "bullshit," you can just write it without the hypocrisy of dots... otherwise, just skip it.
Elton John Electricity
Voto:
Elton John isn't very popular around here, perhaps due to his less than stellar 90s, but it's a shame because many of his songs are part of the best history of pop.

@degregorius: really, in terms of arrangements, Fossati has no responsibility (neither positive nor negative) as he left the scene just at the moment of recording and precisely due to disagreements over the arrangements to be given to the songs written together. This (to respond to primiballi) was stated by Fossati during an interview, citing it as one of the main points of disagreement. Then, if there were other reasons, perhaps unofficial ones, well, that could also be.

He sold even more than Revolver... well, it must be really phenomenal. :-( Gallagher's voice really brings back memories of last Christmas's mascarpone for me. The anecdote about the 10 songs is truly emblematic of the entire career of this band. Oh my.
Angelo Branduardi Branduardi canta Yeats

Beautiful record that cannot be missing from the collection of a lover of singer-songwriter music. Branduardi at his best, likely greatly inspired by the lyrics of Yeats.
