@primiballi: I would be interested in some good tips on barbareschi and nebbioli! In the meantime, let’s take in the interesting music proposal that at the moment, alas, is a gap.
Peter Gabriel Passion: Music for the Last Temptation of Christ
Voto:
Until now, I had overlooked the excellent review by Grass on this beautiful album. Passion transcends the boundaries of a mere soundtrack and manages to live a life of its own, to be a standalone work. Five stars.
Jovanotti Buon Sangue
Voto:
Jovanotti is no longer the teenager he once was, that's very true, he's a forty-something who sings poorly and writes stuff that, at best, resonates with someone in their twenties... Sure, if you’re okay with just shaking your ass without thinking too much about it, that might be alright, who would deny it, but honestly, much more than that, no. The problem is that he goes around acting like a guru, and some people even think he has deep and mature lyrics, that’s the tragedy.
As for Pezzali, please, he’s also likable because he’s become a caricature, but he may have sung about life in Pavia, yet he did it with a banality that has never moved beyond the adolescent phase. It’s not about what you sing but how you sing it. The words you use, the intelligence to draw out, even from a banal situation, an unexpected observation, an image, a different point of view, and so on.
The Beatles Abbey Road

@davejon: that "other than Paul" makes me smile a bit, sorry, because without taking anything away from Lennon’s genius, you just have to look at the songs churned out by McCartney, and while we're at it, this record, particularly the final medley, to understand that although he may be less gifted with lyrics, Macca had (has) an immense melodic talent that makes him, without a doubt, a genius.
The Beatles Abbey Road
Voto:
The importance of Lennon as a guitarist is zero. His talents lay elsewhere, among which was being one of the most important songwriters of the last century.
The Beatles Abbey Road

That the album is a masterpiece is beyond question. Whether it is the album that has influenced rock the most is, however, obviously debatable. That such a record deserved a slightly more careful and comprehensive review is certain.

Waiting for people like neffa to disappear for good.

Green Day American Idiot
Voto:
On DeBaser, criticizing Green Day is mandatory; it's a peculiarity of the site. However, AI, putting aside all the labels (what's the point of discussing real or fake punk today, who knows), it remains a nice album; a bit clever, sure, but within limits.
Zwan Mary Star Of The Sea
Voto:
Quite funny to read; I must have listened to the album once, one and a half times, and it didn't leave a mark on me.
