Great review indeed, I don't know the album but I know Primus, and they don't drive me crazy.

Well, regarding the recommended reviews, I believe that there are quite precise formal parameters: clarity, conciseness, accuracy. It doesn’t seem to me that one must necessarily review intellectual albums as you say, nor albums that have not been reviewed: more than once I have seen reviews of albums that have been reviewed before and also of albums that are far from intellectual, like those of Bob Dylan reviewed by Poletti or Grazia De Michele (if I had mentioned Janis Joplin...). It is evident that preference is given to reviews of albums that have never been discussed and, at the same time, to shorter and more fluid reviews that can capture the reader's attention. Then, I don’t think you should take it personally: often the recommended reviews receive little commentary, and I believe that’s not exactly the best situation for a reviewer who would like to spark a discussion or reflections on the album in question: look at my last one on American Pie: 5 or 6 comments.

The review is very thorough, but it's too long. Also, there are some spelling mistakes, especially in the early sentences. Otherwise, I generally agree with your overall judgment, but my rating certainly doesn't reach 5; let's say it's a 3.5: the quality of the music is undeniable; after all, we are talking about PFM, but in the long run, the album bored me, so when I think of other famous rock works (a genre that has never particularly fascinated me, except for the legendary "The Wall"), the rating drops.

Joe Cavalli, I fully share your conception of classic progressive = Yes, Genesis.

Oh my God, unfortunately in the academy I've gotten acid from swallowing bossa nova... I had started to hate it... anyway, great album and great review.

To tell the truth, it is inspired by the protagonist of Nietzsche's greatest work "Thus Spoke Zarathustra." Zarathustra is the prophet of the death of God, the forthcoming birth of the overman, the sacred "yes-saying" to life, the celebration of the Dionysian spirit at the expense of the Apollonian, and the Eternal Return of the Same. However, the album you mentioned I know well and it is one of my favorites. Anyway, I understood your point about Wright; I was reinforcing your thesis.

I always enjoy reading reviews of Floyd albums, even those that have already been reviewed multiple times.
Speaking frankly, this review doesn’t add much to what has already been said by other reviewers. And, without any offense, among the existing reviews, there’s one that is definitely better. That said, I almost fully agree. As for the rating, I wouldn’t know: is this album on par with The Dark Side, Wish You Were Here, The Wall, or even Meddle, where just Echoes and One Of These Days are enough? I’m not sure; perhaps it’s a little below those, even though, as you rightly point out, the album boasts an extraordinary homogeneity in sound and a perfect balance between the melodic part and the rhythmic section. Truly, as you say, never an instrument out of line, nor virtuosity for its own sake.
Or maybe the album is beautiful, but in a different way from the others. I would say that overall, the album is a masterpiece, yet in the Floyd discography, it is surpassed at least by the first three I mentioned. So perhaps a 4.5 is the fairest rating.

They are nice, but we would have gladly done without them. The Who without Moon are like Queen without Mercury and Zep without Bonham: why the hell do so few have the courage to back off? The case of Queen is really embarrassing.

No no, the Bluevertigo were much better, even though we could easily do without them as well... This is just someone who thinks he’s some sort of modern prophet of good music, in my opinion to hide a creative incapacity that wouldn’t give him a chance if he didn’t already have a name known to the mainstream. The review isn’t bad, but the mistake about the Gaber song is serious.
