Well, I've heard Aimee Mann not only through the songs featured in the masterpiece Magnolia, but also an album whose title I can't recall. I only remember the elegant packaging and a pop sound that didn't impress me. However, the review is good.

I haven't listened to this album but I think the Doors are better off without Morrison, rather than, like in the reunion some time ago, with the former singer of the Cult imitating Morrison.

really beautiful review, even though it's the first time I hear the name Galaxy 500.

Marco or Viva Lì, after reading the comments and your sharp responses, I'm sorry but I can only reaffirm the judgments I expressed in my first intervention. Furthermore, this sentence of yours: "Then, when I write, I always use a somewhat refined terminology; if you don't like it, too bad, I'm not writing for everyone (this sentence isn't too bad either, they should compare it with Zappa's about music journalists)" not only makes me shudder much more than those I've read in your review, but also gives me the chance to advise you not to listen better to this or that Frank Zappa album and not to write better either. There's time for those things... It's humility that I advise you to learn. Then maybe we can talk about the rest as well.

You have convinced me!

I completely disagree with the judgment of "Apostrophe" and "One size fits all": Disappointing? When has that ever been the case? And what about "Roxy and Elsewhere"? And "Overnight Sensation"? Are those disappointing too? Come on!! I disagree a bit less but still disagree with expressions like "Brani scomponibili a piacere" (what does that even mean??), "note celestiali," and "intrinsecamente complesso e musicalmente maniacale" that are completely meaningless. And if we're going to mention the band’s musicians, how could we forget Peter Wolf (keyboards), Patrick O'Hearn (bass), and Eddie Mann (percussion)? What did they do to you? Sorry Marco, there's no bitterness in me, but I just can't get your review down.

I remember the crossover well, and the Ritmo tribale too. The first one convinced me, while the second definitely did not, but I'm basing this on memories of their videos and some appearances on music shows. I haven't heard the CD, so who knows, maybe I was wrong. The review, however, seems good to me.

Wow, I correct "The times of the metal Grand Guignol were yet to come" to "The times of the metal Grand Guignol were still far off." That sounds better, right? When you're in a hurry...

Thank you The Alex, thank you Festwca, thank you Roby86. I believe I've unraveled the mystery. And it wasn't even that difficult. A glance at Alice Cooper's biography on his official website revealed a few things. Frank Zappa released the first two albums credited to Alice Cooper under his two labels: Bizarre (Pretty's for You) and Straight Records (Easy Action). Their meeting is noteworthy: the band played one night at the Cheetah Club, a venue in Los Angeles, for a concert in memory of Lenny Bruce. Frank went there with the GTO (Girls Together Outrageously: it's up to you to discover who these lovely girls are, in case you don’t already know). The era of the heavy metal Grand Guignol was still to come, as the show put on by Alice at the time had something Dadaist about it, at least according to what is narrated on the site. Well, the band made such a racket that the 2000 people in the audience dispersed in disgust without even waiting for the end of the second song. Could Frank not fall in love with this group? And could I let these two albums slip away? Certainly not!! Bye.
