I have no trouble believing that this is a beautiful album. I've always appreciated Avion Travel's covers ("Storia d'amore" by Celentano and "Cosa sono le nuvole" by Pasolini) and I've always had reservations about their original songs (for the lyrics, certainly not for the music). Then there’s the lawyer...
Genesis Genesis

I don't know, I think this is the best album by Genesis from the Banks-Collins-Rutherford era. The only song that I genuinely dislike is "That's All." But the rest is not bad at all. If the other albums by this lineup were like this one, we would always miss Gabriel and Hackett a bit less...

Nice record, thank you Iside. :)

In the meantime, Genesis' '83 is not bad at all; in fact, I think it's the only good album from the Collins-Banks-Rutherford era. Then, if they played Peter Gabriel's "Sledgehammer" video twenty times a day on videomusic, I was happy because it's a rather brilliant video. Just like the one for "Big Time." As for the rest, I pretty much agree...

Yes, it was good that Iggy Pop didn't agree to succeed Jim. And I'm sorry that, many years later, such a fate befell Ian Astbury. On the reunion tour (by the way, I think Stewart Copeland was on drums), he dressed and acted like Jim. Such sadness... Anyway, the album is beautiful, and I would defend "Hyacinth House"...
Family Fearless

Oh darling, if you say that Gabriel has definitely listened to the Family, I can only trust you blindly... As for the influences, I mentioned one that Gabriel himself has referenced multiple times. @Pretazzo: I don't know, even from a theatrical standpoint, they don't seem to resemble each other much. Chapman sings like the protagonist of "Barfly" would, while Gabriel seems to have jumped out of a fantasy tale. Two completely contrasting ways of evoking fantastic worlds, or at least that's how it seems to me. :)

Well, I'll tell you, Wilson doesn't really drive me crazy. However, I can imagine how he must have felt after being fired by Banks and Rutherford. Maybe he thought he would hit it big with Genesis and instead it turned out to be a flop... Anyway, maybe I'll download it and give it a listen... As for the cutting and pasting, it's a practice I don't like either. The songs from the early period are so beautiful... They should play those and do a medley of the rest. Futile hope, I know...

Ah, so they recycle it... and poor Wilson, who knows what happened to him... Well, I would rather go see the Musical Box... Thanks for the info, anyway. ;)

Collins "or" Wilson?

Yes, I read it in the review, but is there Collins, Wilson?
