bartleboom, it was "tasta testicula," that's what they wrote on the high school blackboard :-) I don't like stoner, what a shame... for me, the Swedes are two things: Abba and Bathory!

Really Nina, what were you thinking saying to everyone that you're female and especially that you're single?! We're hungry wolves here, we're only here for that (that)... speaking of which, 5 out of 10 for the review ahahah (don't listen to the others, the track by track is cool, even if some ellipses here and there would be appropriate)... I don't know the band, I don't know the scene in Alessandria, but traditionally Piedmont should be a guarantee for death/grind, extreme stuff in short... anyway, welcome, hope you survive here :-) P.S. as for the Editors, I believe it when I see so few comments in the "latest", there are tons of responses (like 21 counter-comments to Caz's comment)...

well, this album is overrated... disappointing production, very polished sound, mediocre songs... much better is Angel Dust, which is really unpredictable and atmospheric, one of the best albums of the 90s...

Congratulations on fatherhood, psycho! :-) Kids, being pure, instinctive and thus NOT CONDITIONED by the shitty society around us, understand music better than adults... it’s not quite related, but I just recall that there’s a video on YouTube of a song by the Bonzo Band that parodies Walt Disney, and in the comments, a guy says his girlfriend always plays that little tune at the kindergarten where she teaches... a kindergarten that plays the Bonzo Band, haha... the review is really beautiful, Psycho, but in my opinion, "carrying on the musical legacy of the Ramones, with the same ability for synthesis, melody, and trippy lyrics," there have been many other bands, it's just that they are "incognito": at first listen, we don't recognize them as Ramones-esque, because maybe they use the xylophone instead of the guitar, but in reality, they are because the Ramones' revolution was purely CONCEPTUAL... sorry for the convoluted thoughts, but it's been a while since I've written... a greeting, ever more sporadic, to all the De-Family! I’m wrapping up the Fall and going to make myself a chicken breast with galbanino! Sayonara! :-)

It's the stamp that's different... Chris D's is rougher and more rotten, while JLP carried a certain grace with him (the charm of the Devil)... think, for example, of his performance in For The Love Of Ivy...

Stunning Chris D. With FE he created some of the strangest music of the era. Despite all the various West Coast references (including the half-X in the line-up), they remind me a lot of the New York psychobilly, from the Cramps to the Fleshtones. The early records, especially the fabulous first EP, were actually closer to HC, partially recalling the wobbly firecracker vibe of the Dead Kennedys (at their core, there's a strong rock'n'roll component)... then they became more atmospheric, darker, increasingly immersed in the most sordid blues (but without the fury of the Gun Club and especially without JLP's frail falsetto), yet always with that perverse soul: the Gun Club was the fire, the FE was the mud... "Satan Stomp," on the reviewed record, is memorable, with that slightly swing rhythm... but the whole album moves through marshy landscapes, with the hallucinatory mirage of the city, with its bright signs... Chris D.'s voice is one of those that you never forget... Nice revival by the Editors, on this rainy autumn afternoon...

"when the sun goes down" is nice, it was the jingle of the Eredivisie ad on Sportitalia a few years ago... but I would never go to see them live though... for the Kasabian, I only know that once I saw someone wearing their t-shirt...
