philosopho, did you pull down the full version (50 songs) from Mulo? I only found the shortened one... :-(
Galaxie 500 On Fire

A very well-made review. The album is beautiful; it anticipated various trends of the understated and introspective rock of the '90s, but it also has many debts to classic-psychedelic rock: you can hear traces of Velvet Underground, Neil Young, Nick Drake, Dream Syndicate, Jimi Hendrix, Beatles, but above all Roger Waters (in my opinion, the spiritual father of this melancholic, bloodless, languid, exhausted, gray music, with that supple drumming, that melodic bass, that reiterated falsetto in the vocals, those feeble melodies...)

I thought of something else. There was a French director, Jacque Tati, active in the 40s and 50s, who made comedic cinema but, at the same time, with great stylistic research. His masterpiece is considered "Playtime" (I saw it once and I must say it bored me a bit). Here, it's a film almost entirely played out in long or medium shots, so as to include, within the same frame, different groups of characters who engage in independent actions among themselves: it’s a film that thus requires a high level of attention from the viewer to perceive all the actions that the various groups of characters are performing simultaneously... I believe that albums like Parable, but also Faust, Twin Infinitives, etc... are on the same wavelength as Tati's cinema, precisely because of the presence (simultaneously) of various sound sources that combine in a chaotic manner...

Stoopid, there is a very simple way to stop seeing all this trash: the ban.

This second work by the Zukke smells of shoegazing, an album that I have worn out completely and that I listened to again today with pleasure... Intense, emotional, scorching. More personal and less dark than the debut Gish, rich in anthology-worthy tracks (besides the famous singles, I would mention Quiet, Geek USA, Mayonaise).

I only have "Da Capo," a beautiful example of pop psychedelia or, if you prefer, "acid-lounge." Music for a controlled high, to be enjoyed in the living room, comfortably seated in an armchair on a Sunday afternoon in late spring, sipping a delicious fruit cocktail... Delightful.

"...Gilmour's guitar is the most recognizable guitar in the history of rock..." Well... :-/ Is this face appropriate to indicate doubt?
Supertramp Breakfast in America
Voto:
Well, it must be said that Supertramp ranks among the brightest, most refined, and original exponents of so-called AOR, that pompous and ultra-smooth pop-rock that was all the rage on American charts in the late 70s... Supertramp came from progressive and art-rock, and you can really feel it... In the famous single "Logical Song," the influence of Roxy Music is strong... An eclectic band, capable like few others of blending quality and catchiness...
Colosseum Valentyne's Suite

Perfect, dazzling, brand new album. The alchemy between genres (blues, jazz, classical, rock, pop, but also exotic, like the samba in "Elegy") is impeccable and genuine. Now comes the bold statement: for me, this album is as beautiful, successful, and important for prog as the contemporary and (rightly celebrated) "In the Court of the Crimson King"...
