Well... for me, the 90s revival has been happening for a few years now... although, of course, nowadays, the most plundered period is the eighties...

Ah yes, the summer of the final exams... who can forget it? I too, as soon as I got my license, would take big drives in the car, complete with skids... What a great time!
Byrds The Notorious Byrd Brothers

Essentially The Byrds! One of the most "ahead of their time" bands of the 60s; with that cold, crystalline sound and intimate vibe, they already belonged spiritually to the 70s, or rather the 80s, or rather the 90s, or you know what? Listening to them today, they're still incredibly relevant! Piergiorgio, in the meantime, I've ordered another beer... ;-)

The samples aren't working :-( Also, I haven't received any email notifications for a couple of days, but maybe the issue is resolved now... Oh, the review is really engaging!

Francis, where do you see self-indulgence in the music of the Residents? This sentence of yours, "It doesn’t take much to be dark and anti-commercial, just like it doesn’t take anything to grab a marker and deface a painting," sent shivers down my spine...

The only reason one might associate Freddie with Mozart is the "classical" flavor of Mercury's songs, which drew from both Baroque and Romantic music... The grace and elegance of certain Queen tracks can be described as "Mozartian," but only superficially...

PIXELID, I'll tell you as a fan of Freddie Mercury: in my opinion, there's talent and then there's talent. Freddie knew how to compose and sing beautiful songs, he had an innate knack for writing catchy and sometimes quirky melodies, and a vocal range and power that allowed him remarkable vocal excursions. Mozart marked an entire era and with his sophisticated compositions helped transition Western music from the neoclassical to the romantic... Do you get the difference?

The Residents surpassed???!!! Drawing mustaches on the Mona Lisa???!!! A typical avant-garde product of the 70s???!!! What the hell are you saying, Francis???!!! Have you lost your mind???!!! Do you at least have a vague idea of the musical knowledge required to make the music the Residents made???!!!
