I listened to it twice in two days: truly brilliant! Pigswill is like when you come back from a slight buzz and can’t fall asleep: you never take off! A nightmare! There'll be a HOT TIME in the OLD TOWN tonight!!!

Yes! What a seminal group! Worse than the Cramps! I'm almost tempted to review Corpse Love, which is even more fetid and deafening. It's impossible to isolate a single episode: all the tracks are equally rotten. The trio Spencer/Hagerty/Bert was dedicated to the most maniacal blues-core ever conceived: it's as if they had crossed the threshold of the unlistenable, drawing forth the most grotesque cacophonies from their instruments. This is where the "scandalous" aspect of their proposal lies. Moustache, compliments on the review; especially this phrase: "the door that seals the most effective musical incinerator of all time"... Which area of Brianza are you from?

Sonic Youth, an independent band, fundamental in shaping the then new wave... some refer to them as the "parents of grunge." <<< What?! ......Courtney, great voice, maybe the best female voice in rock <<< Noooooooo, for Diana! And where do you put Bjelland??? Love was too self-satisfied, while Bjelland spat blood..... Anyway, a nice review! :-)

I love this album. Perhaps the most original metal band ever (not surprisingly, poorly tolerated by true metallers). They were the Blue Oyster Cult of the 80s, doing to metal what the BOC did to hard rock in the 70s: they transfigured it, revealing its "alien" qualities. Nothingface is chilling, cryptic, freezing, in its unwavering geometry, in its executive detachment, in its contradiction of all the genre's stereotypes, in its constant ability to unsettle and alienate the listener. The aliens have arrived among us: we are not alone.

A little experimental??? Quite experimental, I would say... Never heard music like that before them... Oh yes, the Iberian high is over... back to the daily grayness... Come on, drop by the chat when you have time! ;-) We're eagerly waiting for you!

I've regained my bearings (for now)... The review is one of the most inspired I've ever read on DeBaser (surpassing anything published on chic sites like Ondarock); the comments are charming, as usual; the album is a masterpiece. The first track always puts me on edge, but once I'm in the album's subversive spirit, I can't let it go and remain hypnotized until the end. Besides the names you've mentioned, I would add seminal noise bands like Red Crayola, Chrome, Butthole Surfers... These Royal Trux, with their genius mishmash of deformed electronics and assorted cacophonies, have created a work that will only be fully understood in centuries to come... Perhaps I'll add something else tomorrow...
