Black Sabbath Master Of Reality

My favorite of the early Sabs.
Venom Metal Black

I don't judge the album, as I've only heard a few tracks in the car from a friend who's an indestructible Venom fan... Anyway, the review is very beautiful and personal, and it contains a sacred and bitter truth: "beautiful things have a nasty flaw: they end." :-(
Corrosion Of Conformity Deliverance

I only have the debut album by COC, which I find rather bland... Anyway, a pleasant review... The discussion on stoner is interesting...
Adolescents Adolescents

@Leonid: yes, maybe "melodic" isn't the right adjective for the Adolescents... catchy fits better... "west-coast" even better... actually no: in the West-Coast there were also some pretty violent bands, like the Black Flag... but they were kind of a special case... anyway... we're getting nowhere! :-D Let's say that the Adolescents played gritty but also soft hc, on the brink of power-pop (maybe that works)... I much prefer the Descendents because I find them more imaginative, more inspired, more engaging... @Fidia: I understand what you mean, but at this point even the Misfits come across as kids: they were less polished than the Adolescents, but equally immature (in a good way, eh... immature in the sense of "spontaneous, genuine, immediate"). It's just that the Misfits had a bigger melodic scope; they were more captivating... My mini-ranking among these three bands: 1) Descendents 2) Misfits 3) Adolescents.

A small classic of melodic HC, a nice notch below the Descendents...Fest, Agnew's album should be avoided like the plague: it’s a hodgepodge of genres with no head or tail, sometimes irritating...Fidia, all the HC bands of the early '80s were made up of kids...
Queen Live Killers

Leonid, keep in mind that Queen has definitely been one of the most hated bands by critics, so talking about overrating seems a bit out of place to me. ;-)

Well... when I read "progressive," I think of Genesis, Yes, King Crimson, in short, people who made music that was a bit (a lot) different from that of We Will Rock You... but I understand what you meant: a more intricate and dynamic version of the original.

My absolute favorite live performance. Captivating, to say the least. The setlist is stunning. The beautiful thing is that Queen could, live, transform the songs (having to give up on choirs and overdubs), gaining in imagination and energy what they lost in finesse and baroque style. Good review, but... what does "We will rock you progressive" mean??? :-O
