Unwound Fake Train
Voto:
I didn't like either the review or the album.
John Coltrane A Love Supreme - DELUXE Edition
Voto:
I'm sorry, it doesn't resonate with me like My Favourite Things...
45 Grave Sleep in Safety
Voto:
listened again yesterday...an album with neither head nor tail, an apparent mishmash of styles (surf, beat, psych, glam, kitsch, disco, wave, Broadway etc...), held together with the tape of horror...listening to Sleep In Safety is like watching Tim Burton's Beetlejuice: the merit of 45 Grave is that they managed to parody a genre that was quite popular among teenagers in the early '80s, both in music and cinema...it’s a kind of Rocky Horror Picture Show adapted to the era of punk, new wave, college rock, etc...
Siouxie & the Banshees Juju
Voto:
damn, what an old review... you were really onto something back then... about JUJU, I love the first 3 tracks, genius... I like the second part less: too long and verbose, and the various Monitor and Voodoo Dolly aren’t very engaging, even though they practically laid the foundations for dream-pop and shoegaze... anyway, the Banshees' singles (or short tracks) are definitely better, concise, surreal, magical, fascinating, full of atypical ideas...
Crime And The City Solution Paradise Discotheque
Voto:
this is the CULT group par excellence, with the most beautiful name ever... there's one of their spine-chilling songs, in the wake of Cave, but I can’t remember the title damn it...
Agnostic Front Victim in Pain
Voto:
"...they remember in 2008 a world that has ended, where those fantastic acid sounds weren't crafted on mixers dozens of meters long..." <<< anfatti :_(
Agnostic Front Victim in Pain
Voto:
Well, damn... but even better is the first album by AF, the one that lasts 6 minutes and contains 10 tracks.
Fugazi In On The Kill Taker
Voto:
I like Fugazi up to Repeater... passionate review...
Savage Republic Ceremonial
Voto:
I think the SR have done better... their ethno-wave here is quite predictable (even more so on the EP Trudge)... nonetheless, Walking Backwards remains a memorable track...
The Magnetic Fields The Charm of the Highway Strip
Voto:
Ah, what a magnificent voice this Merritt has!
