masterpiece...maybe their best album alongside the debut Hate You Friends...90% of the songs in their first 3 or 4 albums are memorable, I’m not exaggerating...one of my favorite indie bands, almost on par with their masters, the unreachable Mats...of course, before the soft turn of the 90s (even though Shame About Ray still contains extraordinary tracks like Rudderless, Bit Part of Your Life, etc.). On Lovey, every song is great, including the cover of Parsons, which Dando & Co. transform into their own personal Swingin' Party...Impeccable review, from a great connoisseur of rock music and basketball like Donj...ah Larry Bird was a god, obviously a show-off, larger than life, but incredibly strong: 3 years ago on Sportitalia they were showing 80s matches with commentary from Il The Coach...fantastic :-)))

Holy crap! It’s true that we’re all miserable pieces of shit and that love is worse than Christmas, but God definitely exists: this is empirically proven by the blasphemies uttered in the regions of Veneto, Friuli, and in the Lombard provinces of Lecco, Sondrio, and Bergamo! God Bu-Bu! :-)

In fact, Darkeve, once a "veteran" of that season, told me bizarre anecdotes about their concerts... then they got on stage and exchanged a few curses with Shannon Selberg :-D I'm not complaining, since I shook Albini's hand (how lucky I was!), but I regret not being able to witness at least a couple of things: Replacements and Cows!

I don't have the audio on my PC at the moment (I'm not at home)... when I get back, I'll listen to it... anyway, your point is now crystal clear...

Good evening everyone... thanks for the shout-out :-) @kaczynski: could you tell me a bit about that story with Wire? A serious magazine that recommends unlistenable records?! Are you saying they write well, analytically, without record label pressures, without kissing ass, without hyping the same pathetic next big thing... only to end up recommending mediocre records anyway? I don’t understand...

The Coooooowwwwsssss! one of my cult bands... so many memories... I wore out their fabulous debut Taint Pluribus, which remains one of their best works, along with Cunning Stunts... disappointing though was Sexy Pee Story, too much noise and not enough fun... and from that moment on they were never the same again... they played at the Bloom in Mezzago in the early 90s, but I was too young to go to concerts (elementary school)... the bassist was a madman and the sound of his instrument was torture... they had a trashy sense of humor that sometimes got incredibly serious... a bit like their ideal spiritual fathers, the Texans Butthole Surfers, clowns only to skeptics, but in reality contemporary surrealist poets... the Cows, on the other hand, were from Minneapolis, signed to Amph. Reptile, the last great noise label founded in the 80s (by the guy from Halo of Flies)... a shoutout to Darkeve for bringing this (unjustly) forgotten protagonist of the unrepeatable indie scene from 20 years ago back to the homepage on Deb...

I don't think I'm listening to these... sorry, but the raw and stripped-back revival doesn't say anything to me, unless there's an extraordinary creative or interpretative flair, which happens less and less often... take Arbouretum, for example... they are the real deal...
