Anyway, I sense some grungy aroma in this record, especially in certain melodies...

Thank you, Godbowl! :-) Haha, Camper Van Beethoven are legendary! They bring me such joy... As for The Replacements, well, I think what I wrote in the review of Tim speaks volumes about how I feel about them! :-) In fact, most of the reviews I've done so far are of underground rock bands from the '80s, not because I only listen to that music, but because it's still a relatively untapped area on Debaser, at least compared to other genres (and I always try to avoid duplicates). Anyway, my belief is that the '80s were an UNREPEATABLE period for rock music: just listen to Atomizer and you'll agree with me! :-))) (P.S. Don't worry: if you survived the Butthole Surfers, you'll survive Big Black too: there's just a bit less lava and a bit more scrap metal!) :-D

You even managed to unsettle the calm Mariaelena! Beasts! :-) Anyway, I wanted to say one thing: the Pink Floyd of The Piper were the Pink Floyd of Syd Barrett; the Pink Floyd of the subsequent albums (especially the "trilogy": Dark, Wish, Animals) were NOT the Pink Floyd of David Gilmour, but rather the Pink Floyd of Roger Waters. It was Waters who was the mind (but above all the SOUL) of the PF in the 70s. The mass is over, go in peace.

Great album, I haven't listened to it in a while, but I'll pick it up again one of these days... an intelligent use of keyboards... imaginative compositions... Malpractice is perhaps an example of "total" metal, impressive... Be aggressive is cool, while Crack Hitler and Jizzlobber bore me a bit... Caffeine has a spine-tingling central progression... RV is genius... the review is well done, but I'd like to point out a couple of things: 1) for me, nu-metal has different foundations; 2) Faith No More were certainly an original and creative band (and Angel Dust is a seminal album), but they too drew various ideas from certain groups that preceded them (an example: Bad Brains in their second phase).

the galaxie500 curse......it never happens to me, but I know people who don't love Television (because they can't stand Verlaine's voice) or don't love the Jesus Lizard (because they can't stand Yow's voice). :-D

Yes, "Waiting Room" is the opening track of "13 Songs"... Anyway, you're not the only one who can't stand Picciotto's voice because it's a deliberately exaggerated, deformed, expressionistic, hyper-emotional voice, and it can be annoying to some... I don't know if you know Rites of Spring, Picciotto's first band: if you don't know them, I recommend staying away, because in Rites, Guy's voice is even more extreme (and the music is much more disordered than in Fugazi)... And how about Drive Like Jehu, do you know them?
