Talking Heads Remain In Light

@Ghemi: "Warhol-Velvet (easier than this)" <<< maybe TOO easy... or not? ;-) oh dear, the Warhol filmmaker maybe yes, but I struggle a bit to connect the Warhol of pop art with the music of the VU. Anyway, very fitting comparisons by Kosmo, even though unfortunately I don't know Haring.

A bit heavy and intellectual. Really beautiful, avant-garde album: Eno's touch is as weighty as a boulder.
Cocteau Twins Treasure
Voto:
Beautiful. The only remark I feel compelled to make concerns the opening sentence: for me, the Cocteau Twins represented a transcendence of the new wave.
Pre Teen-Age Jesus James Chance Lydia Lunch

The SY are children of no-wave in general, also of Lunch (a hundred times more expressive than her student Kim Gordon).
The Clash The Clash
Voto:
A nice debut, even if at times it feels a bit outdated... anyway, I believe that even these early Clash were already aware of their abilities and their eclecticism... in short, paraphrasing NGW, "they knew how to handle their instruments" :-)

a truly valid review...I love no-wave, one of the key moments in the history of rock...both T. Jesus and the Contortions are extraordinary, highlighting with great effectiveness the two main aspects of no-wave: respectively, anguish and neurosis. The Closet sends chills down the spine and conveys a sense of claustrophobia better than any track by Sonic Youth.
The Triffids Born Sandy Devotional

Pretty... anyway, the Australian rock of the '80s is one of my favorite eras... there were a myriad of bands, and they were all very different from each other...

hats off!
Jesus Lizard Down

You made me want to get my hands on the Cargo Cult (Denison and Biscuit together: I shudder to think of the wreckage they must have caused!). Anyway, the Jesus Lizard is one of the greatest rock bands of all time. And Scratch Acid too! The famous Chicago-Austin axis...good times...
Mercury Rev Yerself Is Steam

you are yet another fake of Poletti, I've already understood...
