"American alternative rock... the true horrors of music" <<< and what would the false horrors be?

Absolutely not. Iggy Pop is one of the most important and expressive voices in the history of rock. Unfortunately, only you see him in the infamous "rock Olympus": in reality, if it weren't for Lust for Life, today no one would pay him any attention, alas... he is infinitely less famous and celebrated than Jim Morrison or Mick Jagger (just to name two great interpreters of rock, contemporaries and comparable to Iggy).

Oh finally the review of this timeless masterpiece has arrived... "Fools are often loathe to testify It's an illusion of life The whole cause of our demise It's an illusion of life"... immense. Well done Ruben!

The Deviants Ptooff!

I didn't really like the review... too brief... I'm listening to the album these days... these Deviants aren't bad, definitely better than the Fugs... even though they were English, they sound very American to me, maybe because at times they remind me of Zappa... anyway, aside from a few collage/noise/experimental episodes, in this album I mainly hear some excellent rhythm and blues...

@ Fusillo: I’m referring to the "theatrical" quality of the vocal approach, both of Chapman and Gabriel, that way of singing that is so emphatic, epic, evocative of fantastic worlds :-)

A long but truly inspired review. It never gets boring. Like the record, of course, one of the most exciting from Young, even though the album by good old Neil that has stuck with me the most is Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere (na-na-naaaa-na-na-na-naaaa).

Nice review. I've only listened to the first Family album (Music in a doll's house); I have the impression that Chapman significantly inspired Peter Gabriel's vocal style. I don’t listen to them often, but when I do, they never let me down.
